Just for your info:
when I started canion in august/september 2012, I could not imagine to use more than 100fps within one program, today we use 410fps...
also, there were these very nice improvements made by Martin to navigate between nice screens.
Nothing is for free (but canion) and I am not really surprised when I read problems of stability on smaller android devices.

Xavier

Probably already been discussed, but I can't find it, what does it mean / what measures the "fps" parameter?

Thanks in advance,

If I understand correctly, it means how many data Canion recieves per second.

I use Canion on my main phone. When I answer an incoming call, Canion freezes and I have to restart it. Does it happen to somebody else?

Bonsoir
a short explanation about fps (frame /sec)

left part is a timestamp (generated by the capture tool, teraterm here)
just after, we have a "PID"
and following, some hex data...
there are around 1600 frames/sec we could see on this diag plug.
we are interested only by some of them.
the game is to guess what is behind each of the PIDs....

Hi Priusfan,

Recently it's been really cold. This morning was -16 Deg C

In the afternoon after sitting in the cold all day when I started canion
it popped up a java error main_VVVVVVVVVVVVVV error at line 5539
something about format of argument. Don't remember the exact error. But I think it had to do with the fact that the cell temp likely went less then zero.

i did a lot of pressing on the top right corner fighting the pop up to get off the cell temp page and then things were fine but when i selected the cell temp page ....... java error again with the same message.

Looked to me like the thread updating this page was unhappy.....

Can you please investigate ? Actually I was waiting for the day cell temps would go below zero to see how the graph would look since the bottom looks like its zero deg C.

Drove home with the heater blasting and when i got home i thing cell temp rose a little the ave was 1.2 deg C I was able to get on that page but I only saw 16 lines it was a bit weird.

Nothing like testing a UI in the Quebec deep freeze.

Cheers

Don......

oui fantastique app

FYI not fully compatible with HTC One phone

Batt info OK but these line graphs
A. Trip history
B. Speed history
C. Wh/km history

Showup as empty graphs

Somehow version 105 works with 2010 imiev but 112 doesn't

112 connects but no data comes through.

Only thing is accelerator data doesn't come through.

Good news for htc one phone

Delete / rename btcan.db file.

Graphs work.

one thing that seems to help is to <force stop> the app before running it again.
else it might go into "0 fps" mode.

I've had to pull the OBDLink MX dongle out approximately 10 journeys
somehow quitting/force stopping the app on the nexus 7 doesn't make a difference.

I wonder if the dongle firmware can be upgraded?

I'm also now thinking of getting the other OBD2 dongle recommended by the developers.
One thing that bugs me about that dongle is the seemingly exposed circuitboards.

Same problem :( When I upgraded to 112, no data is shown on my Samsung Galaxy S2, Intex Aqua I7 and a noname chinese smartphone. Where can I find older versions? Does anybody use 112 version without problems?

I've been using caniOn version 112 with my Hisense Sero 7 Pro with Android 4.2.1 and STN1170. Freezes and failures to first connect are very common, seemingly random and I haven't detected any pattern. I keep the STN1170 plugged in continuously. I have not altered any files. CaniOn works well enough to do the job, although I would sure like to take a long trip without it freezing so I could indeed gather the statistics for an entire trip. Its primary value to me is individual cell voltage status, battery temperatures, and the SoC numeric, but I do appreciate and have fun with all of its other features. Still have not had the time to independently validate the amps readings.

martin perhaps you can upload the beta 113 version for us to test?
this one works with one 2010 imiev in Perth Western Australia

the battery status graph might be a bit odd though, tends to max out with blue bars right to the top.

I don't think this occurs with 112.
