olagon, would you be kind enough to search this Forum first before posting? For example, here's just one of the many threads on this topic:

http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1498

If I recall, there was only one battery pack in the US possibly affected (one that had been replaced by a new one).

Yes I saw that. The article I pasted to start this thread was written after the thread that you link. So was asking if there is new info.

Thanks for the reminder though...for a forum to work we have to do some searching on our end!

olagon, not to worry and sorry if I came across too strongly. Trying to keep track of (and retrieve) posts as well as trying to recall excellent comments which are buried inside drifting topics (which we haven't been at all good about separating out) has made me cranky.

Back On Topic, here's the latest info I've seen (similar to olagon's reference):

Also, I ran across this thread with an alarming title (misspelling and all) that fits here: Battery Overheating/Cathing Fire in Japan!

Considering that there are a couple of hundred thousand ICE vehicle fires in the US every year, I personally am totally unconcerned about our iMiEV's battery as I consider it a helluva lot safer than a gasoline tank. Besides, it looks as though Mitsubishi jumped on this one immediately and their failure investigation pinpointed the cause(s) resulting in specific corrective action - unlike the Boeing battery issue where indications are that they never did find the root cause. If anyone on this Forum gets a battery recall notice, please keep us posted.

The lines-words relevant to us in that link are as follows:
"Around 150 i-MiEV and MINICAB-MiEVs also face a recall. And although most of those 150 MiEV units were also located in Japan, as many as 50 are located in the US and Europe. Mitsubishi says they have notified all customers with potentially faulty battery cells."
