So the Truck is in the shop and it doesn't look good. Minimum will be close to $1000 if I am correct in what is wrong. If it is the next thing on the list it will be a few grand :(

Had to bite the bullet on the 'i'

Went to Arlington but they were closed {shrug- really?}
Called Foxboro and told them out them $8600 out the door. They said fine.
Took it out for a ride since sales guy was with someone else. Charges on L2 at a local store ok I think. I stopped but I just called them to see if it would start.
Got back to the dealer and plugged it into the wall socket and it charges good.

Only a few bummers - No remote (not that I really need it anyway)- no Manual (but I already have it online anyway) - only 1 key. Oh well.
On the driver door arm rest the color is peeling -- I don't like the brown anyway... wonder if I can peel it all off :)

All in all I am happy. I have to go tomorrow and get all the forms, go to the RMV get my EV Plate and then have them come and pick me up and drive me to the dealer to drive the 'i' home.

I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ugeek: :ugeek:

Congratulations on the new(pre-owned) car! I'm so glad you get an i-miev.

I know your going in "eyes wide open". So many of these cars are bought by people who don't have realistic expectations, then they put a few miles on them and get rid of them because they didn't think it through. Makes them a really great used car buy for the right owner, and I really think you are the right owner!

This was the one that had some body damage to the rear that you were concerned about? But the pictures of it look really good! The dealer called it a certified pre-owned, If I recall, so the repairs must have been totally taken care of? Too bad about the remote! you will want it come winter. But you might do a little detective work and see if you can find the previous owner. If they still have it, it would be of no use to them! Or maybe one will turn up on the internet!

I want to stay in touch and read your future posts, I think we are very like-minded, what with the e-lawnmower business.

Really great news, enjoy your i-miev.

Congratulations! Premium SE - you're spoiled before you even got your toes wet.
Still not too late to haggle a Remote into the deal.
Agree that it would be worth the effort to find the previous owner(s) to see if they have the other key and Remote. Might ask the dealer to look them up? Perhaps in the service records?
As far as the color is concerned, there's hope, as here's what an i3 owner did:

Have fun!

Ha, love it.

Don't hate me, but I plan on putting stickers all over it.
Then at some point get it painted a different color.

Congrats tigger19687! Enjoy driving your I-Miev and it will save you money driving a EV in the long run with gas prices on the raise ($4/gallon in San Francisco).

I was already smiling when I was able to come to (almost) a complete stop from 45 MPH with just "downshifting" to B

Can't wait to get it home today !!

Actually, you may be able to do just that

Would you believe that all SE's use the same components as the ES models do, but the color change is just sprayed on? They ALL peel!! I'll bet if you found the correct solvent (something to take off the sprayed on color change, but not harm the vinyl underneath) you could change it all back to the standard ES color

Anyway, congrats on your purchase! I know you secretly wanted a black one anyway. Everybody should own ONE black car in their lifetime ;-) - Mine was an '86 Toyota Supra. I could wash it at 10 o'clock in the morning, drive it 10 miles and it was already filthy before noon

I agree with the others - I would do EVERYTHING I could think of to get the remote and the other key included in this deal if at all possible. An extra key programmed to work with your car could cost you $250 and if you lose the only one you have, you're sunk! The remote could be as much as $1K and you WILL want that thing come wintertime . . . . it is the only way to preheat the car in the garage before you leave home. It's all but essential, especially in colder climates

Enjoy your drive home on the freeway - You'll see that 40 miles is no big deal

Some of us drive every mile with the selector in B mode - The wife and I haven't used any other mode since we bought our first one 3 years ago. Once you get accustomed to modulating the 'Go pedal' correctly, you'll hardly ever touch the brake pedal until you're below 15 mph

SE, not that I wanted it and Black - worst color to keep clean, especially now that the pollen is all over.
So I guess my color today is Green-ish with a black undertone
HAHAHA

1st thing I did was turn the front head rests around and took off the back head rests (no one will sit back there).

I do wish that there was a back "cover". to hide what is in the "trunk" area.
I had one in my Ford Escort years ago and liked it.
