While parked, another vehicle reversed onto the right hand side rear bumper of my 2012 iMiEV.
After boiling water poured over the dented area of the bumper, I was able to push out the dent by hand. It was then I saw the support bracket had broken away from the inner surface of the bumper, and was bent downward about 60° off the horizontal.
Unfortunately the incident caused the bumper's mount tab (approximately an inch square and make of the same material as the rear bumper, to break away from the inside surface while remaining bolted to the metal support strip.
Are there any tips as to how I might be able to reattach the bumper to the support?
