    Adam's i-Miev Jelly Bean experience

I gave it a quick try today ( - 7 deg C outside ), with max setting, recycling air and position set to "defrost", it took 10 minutes to raise the cabin temperature by 11 deg C. Next time I will plug the CaniOn app to see how much current the heater pull on the battery. It still work, but it...

    Adam's i-Miev Jelly Bean experience

Adam here. I got this 2012 I-Miev SE in 2015. I live in Quebec, Canada. I still have the car and it's still running, although replacing parts on this Mitsubishi is very expensive, so I did most repairs myself when possible. First problem appeared in 2016. The rubber brackets that hold the...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

I was not successful at drying the AC compressor. Once the AC is disconnected ( 350V connector under the car ), I can now charge and drive the car again! Thanks you guys for your help on this matter, this is greatly appreciated.

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Thanks a lot for your time and advice :) I used liquid tape to fill the dog house gap. This material is way harder once cured compare to the original potting though. If they break again, it might be difficult to rework, so a softer silicone might be preferable. Not pretty but it's done ...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Thanks for the help! So far, I have changed the two snubber capacitor in the dog house. I measured 11 Ohms between the "N" and the "white wire connector" I tested the relay and it bring the resistance to 0 Ohms when activated. Cleaned the residue from the old blown capacitor. I measured...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Only one of the snubber 1000pf cap seems broke on mu OBC 2012 I-Miev. 1- Should I change both regardless? 2- The voltage is fairly low ( 350V ), is it necessary to re-pot the component after the repair? Or is this just to avoid component movement because of the vibration?

    Is my battery slowly dying?

If the battery is dying, the problematic cell will no longer be able to balance and it will always stay lower. On my 2012 i-Miev, the bad cell degraded quickly within 5 weeks before the entire pack was replaced under the warranty. week 2: week 5: When its cold, I also sometime see the battery...

Failed traction battery. How many weeks does Mitsubishi make you wait?

I had to do a few round trips but Mitsubishi St-Eustache always provided me a loaner car, I only had to pay for the gas.

Traction battery going bad or something else?

I called today and the dealer don't know if the new battery pack is brand new or refurbished. He confirmed that the warranty period is not reset though.

    AC is not working...

that's unlucky... I go to St-Eustache for my maintenance, and everything no longer on warranty is expensive. ( like most dealer ) I have read somewhere that dealers make 1/3 of their money when they sell us the car and the remaining 2/3 from the repairs they do on the car. I hope your A/C...

    A/C Issue.

Correct, when you hear a noise while using your A/C ( it feel like having an ICE car motor turning at 5000 or 6000 RPM when you push it to the max setting) lift the car, you can even see one of the bracket by pulling slightly with one hand on the plastic cover. Use the other hand to push on the...

    A/C Issue.

Initially, I thought my AC was broken until I went to the dealer for the "rust bolt battery" recall. The noise was terrible when starting the AC and I also had a chirp noise when hitting crack on the road. On the lift it was clear that the bracket holding the compressor were gone. A brand...

    A/C Issue.

I didn't used the A/C during the winter at all then when I started it this spring, it is now making a loud noise ( as if I had an ICE car engine running ).... I have 45000 km on it but this is my 4 th year, so it will not be covered by the warranty. Make...
