    Tis the season: snow tires!

It was +26F here this morning, and I'm thinking snow isn't far behind. Just wondering if anyone's bought snow tires yet? My local tire shop is recommending Dunlop Graspic DS-3 tires for the i ... they're not the most aggressive snow tire out there, but the shop says they've had happy customers...

    Cell Monitoring Unit "recall"

Got the notice yesterday from Mitsubishi that our car is subject to a "customer satisfaction campaign" (note: it's not a recall in the NHTSA sense) for the Cell Monitoring Unit software update. Since we live well beyond driving range to our Mitsubishi dealer, I called Mitsubishi to find out 1)...

    Reactions from bystanders

I thought it might be fun to share some of my experiences with comments and reactions from bystanders, and to hear what other i owners' experiences have been in that regard. I'll start with a couple of recent ones here in Taos, NM. I was waiting for the i to come out of the carwash when a...

Another hatchet job review: USA Today

James R. Healey reviews the i and makes all the same comparisons to ICEs: http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/reviews/healey/story/2012-06-16/test-drive-james-healey-mitsubishi-i/55602302/1 Just amazing to me how many people don't get it! As a retired marketing guy, this tells me Mitsubishi...

steering wheel toggle for drive mode

How about a paddle or toggle switch on the steering wheel to switch back and forth between D and Eco? Those seem to be the two modes we're using most on the flats and hills here.

    Jack points

The owner's manual does not address the issue of an owner changing a tire, so no info on where (and where not) to place a jack. Anyone tried jacking up the car to change a tire? Suggestions on correct lift points for the front and back of the car?

    Woo-Hoo! Our i has arrived!

Drove to Albuquerque yesterday to do all the paperwork and test drove our silver SE ... what a great car! And because we live well beyond the car's range, we had it trucked to Taos this morning. Been out driving it on and off all day at various speeds, on hills, flats, and on some dirt roads...

Dirt road driving with the i

Just wondering if anyone has taken their i down a dirt road. I'm curious about the ride and handling. We live on a dirt road that does get some "washboarding" between the monthly grading by the county road guys. No pothole action, fortunately. We have around 1/2 mile of dirt road before we get...

Hello from northern New Mexico: i on order for May delivery

Hello All We live in Taos, New Mexico, and have confirmed with our Mitsubishi dealer in Albuquerque that our i should be delivered mid-May. We're excited! Just had the Eaton Level 2 charger installed in the garage this week. My partner and I are old hands with EVs, with over 50,000 miles...
