I had some range anxiety the other day.

I managed to get my 2012 with 36,000 miles home with one bar and a flashing gas gauge.

When shifting into reverse and backing into my driveway the car immediately quit. It was unnerving because there was approaching traffic and I was basically parked across the road.

Shifting into Park and restarting the car with the key fixed the problem.

It seems likely to me that the main battery being so low was a factor and I was wondering if any others had experienced a similar issue and if there might be any suggestions as to its likely cause.

I’ve had the same experience. We don’t drive if there are just one or two bars. It’s time to charge.

I really think that it could be dangerous as you’ve experienced. And probably the basis for a mandatory recall as the Gom shouldn’t tell you that it has battery charge left when there isn’t any.
