The battery powered Mitsubishi i-Miev is being used to patrol the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. Scottish police hope to reduce the force's carbon footprint by using the Mitsubishi i-Miev electric vehicle whenever practical. The force's superintendent says it signals the Force's intent to continually look at the future.
In a small city the Mitsubishi i-Miev might make a great patrol car, but for high speed chases or the pit maneuver, I'd rather be driving a full size SUV. Europe has been using smaller vehicles for police patrols for quite some time, so it makes sense that a tiny little electric vehicle like the Mitsubishi i-Miev would be a great choice. If nothing else, it would be a cool vehicle wrap to get on a Mitsubishi i here in the US!
