Canadian Recall work done at non i-Miev Mitsubishi dealer

I just did the two recalls. Was told by the dealer that it didn't require much work at all. Basically, they hooked up the MUT-III to the car and ran some test. So, it shouldn't be any hassle to have this work done. My car didn't require any parts - the vacuum pump had been replaced at the...

TFLcar clueless i-MiEV review - video

It's hard to watch. Like many people are clueless as to where their fuel is coming from and what it is doing to their health and the environment. As long they get what they want it doesn't matter to them what the consequences are. They just want big, fast and flashy.

    My first ever rapid charge

I'm jealous. My QuickCharge port is as pure as the driven snow. Maybe one day.

Comparing: 2014 Mitsubishi iMiev vs 2011 Nissan Leaf

Thanks for posting this comparison. I tried both the Leaf and the i-MiEV and enjoyed the i-MiEV more than the Leaf. After almost 2.5 years of driving the i-MiEV I'm still very happy with this car. I'm a truefan boy for the i-MiEV; all the negatives mentioned like the headrests and the remote...

Charging cable pulled out when car started moving

Did the same thing this weekend, let the car roll with the plug still in the car. Fortunately, no damage - I had plenty of cord for slack. This is much like programming software, we try and put in all the code we can think of to prevent the users from breaking the system, but without fail...

Do you feel ICE drivers bully the iMiev ?

I guess I po'd a punk in a ratted out Audi A4 yesterday crossing over the Peace Bridge in Buffalo, NY going into the inspection booths. This kid was on my azz from the bridge even though the speed limit is only like 50kmh and there was a truck in front of me. Heading into the Nexus lanes, he...

    Wheels, Rims, and Tires

Would be interested in the numbers on range, I wouldn't want to experience what JoeS did when he ventured into different tire territory. But, I would like to be able to purchase more readily available tires.

    Review 2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Nice review. You have to know it to love it.

My poor Meepster was injured on the way to work this morning

I knew it when I saw it, my spouse is a Disney Freak to the extreme. We are also members of the Disney Vacation Club and go to the resorts and parks at least once or twice a year. We have gone as many as four times in a year. I'm sure your car will be fine, it looks bad but I've been...

    Battery degradation

Yes, charging your car will warm the batteries and keep them at an optimum ambient temperature. I've followed this practice for the last two winters and get minimal range loss due to cold weather. If you have the CanIon app you can keep an eye on your battery temps and observe how your range...

How to install after market stereo in ES

I don't know how you got that working, PriusFan. I'm impressed! Were there any protections on the interface? It seems like there would be, so that the users couldn't change things around and then blame the company when things went wrong. This is one area where I would expect the system to be...

    Weird interior trim issue

Just get some vinyl wrap in your favourite colour and be done with it. I don't have the fancy ES model, but I have wrapped my armrest in a nice silver color. Sure beats the greenish/grey colour they came in. http://www.amazon.com/Brown-Leather-Film-Vinyl-Sheet/dp/B0057ZQ8P4 This is a leather...

    Electronic sound to alert pedestirans

Same sound from the O-PHEV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEivtfIVNow Not a very good sound. I've scared the crap out of a lot of people when they realized a car was right behind them. :P Should be something more distinctive.

    iMiev wont start

That is where I bought my car from. The Hamilton Mitsubishi wasn't i-MiEV certified at that time and I had an appointment in London for my son. I went there to buy it and had them tow it to Grimsby. It felt kind of nefarious, signing paperwork in a rest stop parking lot and swapping cars...

    iMiev wont start

Is that London Mitsubishi that you are taking your car to? I'm trying to think what is an hour and half away from Windsor? I'm surprised that Windsor doesn't have a Mitsubishi dealership. Good luck with your car. I'm about 10k kilometers less than you, I hope I don't have to go through that...

    My longest single-charge trip

Yes, your car can do that trip with ease. I do it every day, 90% freeway - 27 miles each way. I drive between 80 & 90 kmh (50-60 mph) on a posted 100 kmh road. I don't care if anyone gets mad at me, I'm not paying their gas bills and that is what steering wheels were meant for, drive around.

    Android CAR PC

Thanks! :D This is a new frontier for me, I didn't catch the Android wave years ago and now catching up. Mostly just for CanIon but I am finding other benefits. Currently, I am taking classes at work to learn how to program Android. I am a c# developer, so the language bits are not new -...
