    considering a imiev

That's okay. I had a feeling it wouldn't work out, but this is hardly a bad car. I can see why lambert keeps hunting for them.

We tried pairing the phone, directly connecting it, etc. It just wouldn't work. But that's not important. This car was unstable and the range was poor. Steering is different, but I knew going into this it would be. Every car will be. I don't have power steering. :)

The way it blew around on the freeway was really severe. It was great until I hit th freeway. Then, that charge level turned into a countdown and I was constantly correcting the steering.

I'm used to getting blown around by a passing semi on the freeway while driving my Echo. This wasn't that. There was a bit of wind that day, but hardly enough to call it windy. I didn't check the tire pressure, but based on looking at the tires, they were not flat. I was driving I77 south...

    considering a imiev

I test drove an i at Vandevere. Once again, I called ahead and asked if it was charged, and once again, they lied and told me it was. With half a charge, I took to the freeway. The car wouldn't just go a straight line. I kept getting blown around. Getting to my destination and back to the...

    considering a imiev

Even if I traded in my Echo, in its current condition, at a loss compared to personal sale, I would easily get the car. They basically said "your money is no good here." I was working with the impatient but otherwise very pleasant Mike Casto before. I liked the guy. He wasn't thrilled I was...

    aftermarket stereo concerns

Looking into it, parrot makes a system that would adapt the stock radio to do what I want it to do. That would be an acceptable solution for me.

Remember how I said I was happy with Lambert? They changed that today. Basically, I was not allowed to test drive the car. First, I set an appointment to drive an electric car to and from Canton, to verify its range will work for me. I arrive and the battery is dead, because in spite of my...

How many years / miles can we expect battery failure?

What would I look for in the cannon app that would tell me if a cell was bad or if the battery has a low state of health? I know leafspy can do it.

    considering a imiev

Tomorrow I'm heading to Lambert to test drive a Miev on the highway to and from my college campus, my typical commute. I'm reasonably sure it will make it, but I want to see how much power is remaining and how well it handles. I'll post the before and after readings on here to get an estimate...

New owner from Chicago, IL of a 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV SE :)

I am looking at selling my 2003 Toyoa Echo to get an imiev at Lambert, so this is a funny post for me to find. I want a leaf or a volt more, but at this price, if it passes my range test tomorrow, I would be insane to pass it up. I only have to drive 4 miles to get to lambert, so I've been...

Stop that key-reminder noise and lose 6 [edit: 8] lbs fast!

Are there any photos of these brackets?

    aftermarket stereo concerns

I went to do my test drive today but someone else beat me to the car and drained it. the others left on the lot (these sell fast) were dead too. So they now have to charge all of them, and will have one ready for me Monday morning. While I was there, I tried out the audio built into the ES...

    aftermarket stereo concerns

I don't see anything special for the speaker install other than the missing spacers on the back. Are there spacers on factory installs? While I would prefer to use factory speakers, 2 ohms will kill the headunit. I am a bit worried about putting foam behind the speaker. Wouldn't that muffle the...

    aftermarket stereo concerns

I guess I can check out the SE then, but I really wanted CarPlay. What is so special about the speakers in the miev? Are the heated mirrors unique to the SE? I only found two SE in the area.

    aftermarket stereo concerns

There are plenty of ES's up here around here, some only $7k. I wanted iphone integration and the factory radio wont cut it for me. edit: is it only the SE that has heated mirrors?

    aftermarket stereo concerns

I'm considering the imiev again. Tomorrow, I'm going to take a test drive from the dealership to my college campus, the longest trip I would need this car to do, to see how the range is. But should it pass the real world test, that stereo must go. In the past, I have had the best result with...

I'm in Akron, looking to commute to canton and kent, mostly via freeway. He's heading to canton too. How would that journey work for you?

    considering a imiev

DC fast charging is difficult to find up here, and I'm going to operate under the assumption it will never arrive. 50 miles will likely be the round-trip extent of non-commuting. The miev is looking less and less practical for me.
