    Got a Leaf

Thanks, guys. I may have to post some future developments to this thread. ;)

    Got a Leaf

It went to a dealer, so I don't know who'll get it. It had 29.000 km on it when I sold it, of which almost 20.000 km I put in.

    Got a Leaf

I gave my C-Zero up for a 2012 Leaf which has only 20.000 km on it and battery at 94% State of Health. I just needed a bit more battery and a bit more driving pleasure on longer trips, which the Leaf does provide. I do miss the better regen of the C-Zero and it's city maneuverability, but I...

    RBS light Alarm

I'm going to call BS on that. I suppose if you're in a hot climate the batteries could heat up while quick charging and then keep heating up while driving, but otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

    Additional pack

Regarding the original BMS, you'd need to fake all the appropriate CAN signals to and from the rest of the car. So I wouldn't hold my breath on getting it to work. Balancing only happens at the very end of the charge as far as I know. Not during use. You could also try bottom balancing the...

    Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

Wow, nice, 92% charge. You got lucky that the pack is so full. Also means it's intact since if there was damage surely the SOC would have dropped and/or you would have cells at a lower voltage.

    Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

I'd really like to have such a wreck at my disposal as well... Perhaps this should be moved to it's own topic though? Any admin see this?

    EVBatMon Readings

I'd just like to point out that ampacity means current carrying capability, not battery capacity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampacity

12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

JoeS, fully charged LiFePO4 cells will have a voltage of around 3.3-3.4 volts per cell after you leave them to rest. Thus around 13.3 for the four cells. The heater panel may show a little less than actual due to losses in wires, but it's close enough and the most important thing is that it...

12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

JoeS, the one that I have doesn't have any BMS or other electronics in it or connected to it. It's just hand balanced once and that's it. You can open the plastic case to check voltages. If you don't have anything connected between the cells they won't get unbalanced by themselves, provided that...

12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

I have a 12V LiFePO4 battery in my C-Zero. I've relocated it inside the car, under the right hand rear seat, where the tire repair kit used to be. This way I made space for a fuel heater. So far I haven't had any issues. I've had it there over a year now, I think. LiFePO4 is very safe and if the...

    Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

Thanks a lot Dani for providing information on the eMotorWerks charger. I've been drooling over them, but I think I can stop now. So perhaps the simplest and most reliable way to get faster three-phase charging remains a triplet of these ElCon chargers...

    EvBatMon

Thats brings me to my favorite feature request: Remote heating activation! The French variants, C-Zero and iOn, have no remote and thus there is no way to activate the remote heating feature, which I would love to have. If you could spoof the signal with EvBatMon that would be absolutely wonderful.

    EVBatMon Readings

Regarding the original capacity of the cells, we know that the cells are LEV50s with 50 Ah nominal capacity. Also if you calculate the number of cells times nominal voltage of these cells times their capacity you get 88 * 3.7 V * 50 Ah = 16280 Wh. Newer European models only have 80 LEV50N cells...

How much should the battery be depleted before charging ?

It's a shame they haven't included an option not to fully charge the battery, like on the Leaf, for example. What I'd like to have is an option not to do the Constant Voltage phase of the Constant Current + Constant Voltage (CC/CV) charging that's commonly used on Lithium batteries. I firmly...

    EVBatMon Readings

C-Zero 2011 28212km 39.5Ah 82.3% I think the procedure to drain and fully charge the battery is to make sure that the BMU has an accurate picture of battery capacity. When a random customer comes in there's no way to know (or trust) the customer on how the car has been used. Thus a full...

    Canion

I still have the ongoing issue with CaniOn in that the connection between the phone and the OBDLink LX gets messed up and I need to remove the bluetooth pairing between them and re-pair for CaniOn to work again. What I don't know is that if it's an issue with CaniOn, the 2nd gen Moto G or the...

Flaps in the front of the car

Does anyone know what the purpose of these plastic flaps in the front of the car is? Are they there to improve aerodynamics, reduce noise or something else? Do all models have them, including US spec cars? These are on a 2011 C-Zero. See picture in URL...

    Front tire wear

I run 44 PSI. Both winter and summer tires (Enasave vs. TS760, in front) seem to exhibit the behaviour. I was fearing that with high pressure the tires would wear in the middle the most, but alas it doesn't seem to be so.

    Front tire wear

I noticed the same thing when I took off my summer tires last fall. I've been thinking about alignment. Do the more experienced owners have an insight on this?
