Bad cell - tips on dealing with Mitsu?

Thanks for the quick replies! It does charge fully, and the voltage seems fine at 100% charge. Yeah, it's not the end of the world now, but worried that it will degenerate further to the point that Joe describes...after the warranty is over. Have less than a year and a half left. The dealership...

Bad cell - tips on dealing with Mitsu?

I'm having an issue that looks a bad cell in my battery. The turtle goes on under high load (around 90-100 km/h), no matter the SoC. I went to the dealership and they couldn't identify a problem (no error codes). They say they called Mitsubishi Canada and didn't get any insight. After looking...

    Why do Li-ion Batteries die?

I would take the low-T results of this study with a grain of salt, given that they're charging at a rate of 1C (i.e., battery charges in 1 hour). I certainly wouldn't recommend QC'ing below freezing, but at L1 and L2 rates, this is much less of an issue. See for example here...

    Dealer battery calibration

If that's what they do, that's crazy. Definitely not interested. Just ordered my OBDLink MX, though. ;) The dealership I go definitely doesn't seem like it's full of experts on this car either.

    Dealer battery calibration

Thanks for the info. That letter is interesting - I don't think I ever received that info and I bought mine in 2013 (2012 MY). I usually only let it get down to 2 bars in winter, so I guess I should do it at "normal" temperature sometime. Is it better to recharge it L1 from low SoC? Location is...

    Dealer battery calibration

I just did the 1-yr service on my i-Miev. They want to charge me an additional 100$ for a "battery calibration". From what I've read here, it seems like that's not necessary, and I might as well just get an OBDLink MX with the money and just recharge it slowly from low SoC. Or is it good to...

    Benchmarking to measure capacity loss

Hi there. I figured that the best way to measure capacity loss over time is to measure how many kWh I'm putting into the battery per bar. Then I can track how it changes over time. I've done it twice so far to benchmark the initial state, but the two numbers are farther apart than I would have...
