Survey type questions for those who leased....just curious

Well, I had 4 months remaining on my lease. My payments were $180 per month. I had 12,000 per year mileage and was under when I turned it in a few month early. The residual was something like $28,000(yes, I know, the brand new "I"'s with more standard equipment are selling for $6,000 less!!!). I...

Do you feel ICE drivers bully the iMiev ?

I cannot tell you the number of times I have felt bullied while driving the I-Miev. Part of it was just that some people are simply incredibly rude and stupid; it probably had nothing to do with the small car I was driving. But other times, no, it WAS because of the size of the Mitsu. Some yahoo...

Went to the dark side, well not really...

DPG: Funny how the end of lease cars seem to be so high priced yet (eventually)sell for so much less. The Chevy dealer I purchasd the Volt from actually offered to buy the "I" from Ally, but they quoted the residual price(something like $26,000!!!!!, are you kidding me??), wouldn't budge and...

Will do!!! If I ever get back out to Pittsburgh I will look for your "I".

Went to the dark side, well not really...

OK folks, my lease was coming up for turn in and I decided against leasing another I-MiEV. I ended up buying a clean, low mileage 2012 Volt at a great price. The Volt had just come off its lease, and made the perfect car for my family. We have an ICE vehicle, a 2002 Kia mini-van that is on its...

Climate controls while plugged in, but not using FOB

Just curious if it is possible to activate the heat and A/C while the car is plugged in? I know that it can be done remotely using the key fob, but can one just plug the car in and let it charge, and then turn the heater or A/C unit on and have it work? I tried it today, but got what seemed to...

    Any on the lot?

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I will look on the web as you suggested and see what's available. No need for a test drive as I have been driving my I-MiEV for almost 2 years now and it's coming up to go off lease. Funny that you mentioned a Chevy Volt as I am also looking into...

    Any on the lot?

Just wondering if anyone is seeing or has seen 2014 MiEV's on dealers' lots are are all of the sales completed by ordering the I-MiEV? I have seen none at the few Mitsu dealerships in the area. If ordering is the only way to get an I-MiEV, how long does the process take? Thanks, Lou

My California trip, EV observations from a Philly guy

DPG: What kind of range boost have you seen using the QC? Lou

My California trip, EV observations from a Philly guy

PV: Looks like you scared the other EV's away! The photos show a few, then none but yours. :) How do you like the QC option? My I-MiEV did not come with the QC, now I wish that it had it. Are there any/many QC stations in your range? Lou

    Any I Witnesses?

OK, saw an I-MiEV at the 7/11 near SDSU in San Diego. Was all white, with bike rack added to the back. Lou

My California trip, EV observations from a Philly guy

Actually, I saw ONE, at a 7/11. Also, forgot to mention the Smart EV's and the Cars 2 Go EV's..quite a few of them around. Lou

My California trip, EV observations from a Philly guy

Just got back from a week in Southern California, most of that time spent in San Diego. I would like to compare my observations of the various EV’s I saw versus what is seen out here in the East Coast. • So many Tesla’s that I lost count. On almost every trip on an interstate or “main road” I...

    Remote not working

Did speak with the dealer, who told me that they think I may have: *reprogrammed the remote by keeping it too close to other electronics(such as my computer) *Might need just new batteries *Is not covered by warranty. I am pretty sure that none of the above is true, but I will get new batteries...

    2014 Lease rate

As DanPatGal pointed out, in PA now the rebate is $2K. If we add that into the equation, I would think that it would reduce the total cost of the car by $9500. The leasing company is getting $9500 up front, plus about $4,000 from the customer. That is a full 50%(actually a little more) before...

    2014 Lease rate

You know, $10K for the lease plus $7500 for Federal rebate is $17,500. In PA we also get $3K cash rebate. That brings us to $20,500. Starts to change the financial equation for me. Not sure yet, but I am thinking... Lou

    2014 Lease rate

I am not thrilled about the lease deal. If I am running the numbers correctly(and I admit to doing it really quickly), they are asking for about 17% down, and then almost $6500 in payments. I wonder if it makes sense, financially, to simply buy the car? Assuming one qualifies for the $7500 Fed...

    Remote not working

Thanks everybody. I have been away and unable to post any replies(but I was able to read the comments). Anyway, yes, it is the remote that failed, not the key fob. I can say that I absolutely did not drop the remote, nor did I have any issues with leaving it outside in extreme heat and then...

    Remote not working

Got up yesterday morning and remembered that I can pre-cool the car by way of the Key Fob. I always pre-heat the car in the winter but simply forgot about the pre-cooling feature in the summer. So far I have not really NEEDED to use the A/C, putting down the windows is typically very good and...
