Future Battery Replacement - A Better Battery?

Hi, Also interested in this topic. My Czero has about 60000 km on the counter and range seems about 10% down although some could be due to tires or my son’s driving habits. Can’t help thinking that soon there should be an alternative solution to replace the batteries and boost our range to the...

    i-MiEV and Renewable Energy

Realty makes sense. I would find it even more clever to be able to recuperate the existing batteries for storage of the panels while upgrading the one in the car. Any news on that front, batteries that would have same voltage tresholds, maybe same chemistry but a higher energy density ? I am...

    Winterization of our C-Zero

Congrats on the setup. Just wondering if that fairly small amount of ethanol can be hazardous in case of colision as it is in the crash zone (crossing fingers it never happens). Can the fuel be lower down or under the car, for example below back bumper or so...

Super capacitors to replace 12V battery ?

Would you think that this module will deliver enough power for the i, including the capacity of running the pump of a Webasto parking heater ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/111373572497 Also wondering if it would need a casing to protect it from water projection if replacing the 12 V battery ...

Update from 1 DIN to 2 DIN for Citroen C-Zero & Peugeot Ion

You mean that the SOS button is linked to the car radio ? I thought it had to be another module with GPS and GSM communication.

Anyone has rust prevention, what kind

Aiming to keep the car for a long time I used Waxoyl below and in for panels. Usually cars treated with Waxoyl simply never rust. I say that because once I treated a fiat uno then saw it like 15 years later with not even one trace of rust !

Cheap EVSE (electronics integrated on the connector)

Not tired but looks more interesting than upgrading the existing one. Wonder why they do not make it with a longer cable at least as an option.

Rear seat handle has broken! Need help to fix.

Talked to dealer today. I did not get a detailed description but apparently it is very flimsy, he was talking of a screw part that he had to weld down to reinforce it. He did it for both sides as preventive measure. He had to take the entire seat out... Definitely a weak part of the car.

Rear seat handle has broken! Need help to fix.

Hi, We were putting the back seats down to load up into the cargo area and one of the handles that allow to fold the read seat back panels have up, namely it is still attached but swivels without any effect and the rear panel is stuck at lower than 90 degree angle and can not be moved. Of...

    LED headlights

Well, I installed Xenon 35 W and find them extremely useful. Since I have them, I mostly drive with them on all the time and less people cut the path because of the obvious visibility. Once I saw my wife drive the i on the highway while I was crossing it over a bridge and these headlights are...

    12 Volt Battery Questions

How small could that AGM be? 9 A are really small and cheap. Interest is that a French iMiev owner installed the Webasto at the place of the battery, which I also find so convenient, next to the heating reservoir.

    12 Volt Battery Questions

Actually, I was going to mention desulfators, which to my experience seem to work. I have bought a small unit and use it every other month on my jaguar or before putting my convertible in "hibernation". On the other hand the unit has not been able to restore really hurt deep cycle batteries...

Power appears to be dependent on regen mode

My Czero is probably always in B. Let me guess, power gauge goes up, car accelerates ?

    A Tire Failure

Luckily you were all unharmed. From your experience, would you say that the result would have been the same with an average wheel or was it aggravated because this front tire is so minimal ? Best

    Side window deflectors?

These deflectors are a good accessory. Definitely for charging in the rain, letting air through when fogging up inside... Thus saving on AC. Looks are also a plus. I would just recommend some caution as in my case visibility to front-left was a bit reduced and a few times I did not immediately...

Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

Thank you for the information. Anyway I will have to test the heaters on 240v to see how much they heat, as they will be even hotter at 298 v. If they get to near burning. Temperature, then problem is solved, they have no place in a car, I was expecting them to be almost touchable like 60 or...

Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

Oops, I understand your warning. Some Canadian forum members were discussing last year about the idea of installing two 120V IR bulbs in series under dashboard and I followed their idea without further analysis. Indeed a fuse is a must. But finally 300V DC or 240V AC have the same danger, I...

Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

Just ordered two of these as an infrared alternative. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Infrared-Heater-HQE-0307-43578-/360717694640?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53fc7336b0 Voltage is 277V which might not be high enough for the 16kw battery that runs nominal at 330v but I hope it would work for my...

Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

Hi Don, thank you for information. Re Webasto, it goes below drivers feet, rather around the arch of the drivers wheel. TestO had kindly given thennorwegian manual which I translated with difficulty Witt the assistance of a Swedish student :). Let me put my hand on it and scan it with the hand...
