I had to connect a 100W lamp together with the EVSE to fool public charger and be able to charge all the way. Fortunately a friend of mine works for the company that made many of those first chargers, so eventually their firware settings were changed as to not time out.
Oh, those stops. Yes, mine stops at 70% and 30%. The 30% used to be a headache for me since our public chargers detected that long pause as an interruped charge and ended the charging session
I'm pretty sure the battery won't last until only 2 bars are left. My best bet might be go as low as I feel confortable with and use A/C or something until I get the turtle sign. It should turn on below a certain voltage, right? It's not just at 9,5% SOC, right? I have I feeling I saw a car with...
So I did a forum search, and that ‘battery calibration procedure’ requires that MUT-III tool, correct?
Guess I'm out of luck then. The long road it is for me.....
Some days ago my C-zero wouldn't turn to ready and it was caused by a faulty 12V battery.
I bought a new one and left the old one at the store, and then had to come back the next day because I needed terminal adapters that were left in the old one (go me  )
Anyway, I installed the new...
Canion is a bit touchy if you don't exit it by pressing "back" and confirming you want to exit the app. If you just shut down on cold blood, those two panels get reset to nothing.
Just to add some more numbers, with Canion I see a maximum of 2.5kW going into the battery (7 Amps at 360V), and since it's already measured as DC, it's the value after losses in the internal charger and so on. This is at 13.5-14 Amp charging in a 240V outlet.
Since we do not have 120V outlets...
Nice article. Maybe you could join the portugese community of EV at nissanleafpt.com (It's a forum where we talk about all electric cars, not just nissan) and share this story.
Honestly, I expected a bit more kw pumped into the battery. At least when I charge my car on a public Mennekes...
Nice price. But didn't you have trouble with customs? At least here stuff from China gets stopped in customs quite often, and then we have to dish out more money. I bought mine from a UK store (around 160$), but at least I didn't have surprise charges afterwards. With China would be a gamble...
I got one of those from the UK. Not that there's BMW charging stations here, bue because it can connect to tethered Mennekes connections that exist coupled to some DC chargers (for when the DC is occupied).
Btw, how much did that cost from China?
In America you have that option. The good ol' Aussies had to rely on contact with the Chinese, since shipping from America to Australia was a big no-no. Plus they bought two in a group so they got a cheaper price. In Europe there's twincar.sk, a company in Slovakia.
But the versions currently...
Turtle mode is at 9.5% SOC and the car stops when one of these events happen:
1) 0% SOC is reached
2) One cell reaches 2.7V
So as the battery degrades you stop being able to reach 0% SOC (less distance driven in turtle), because one cell will reach 2.7V first.
But that's only until the car...
That's odd. Just yesterday I connected Canion to a 2017 C-zero. Showed battery status and capacity just fine. Is that a problem only on newer US models?
