Help! Air conditioning fault stops car working after dealer service

Well, the news is good. Mike Casson, the boss at Swansway Peugeot Chester, has spent the last month trying to get this sorted - both looking for a second hand part, and trying to get some help from Peugeot. I have also been on to Peugeot customer services. Mike and Peugeot between them have...

Help! Air conditioning fault stops car working after dealer service

Thank you for your reply. We are looking for a used part, but all the ones we have found so far do not match - apparently there are 3 slightly different ones, and you have to have the right one. I still hope for comments from a technical expert, as I wonder whether disconnecting and...

Help! Air conditioning fault stops car working after dealer service

I have a Peugeot ion I bought second hand 3 years ago. I love the car, and have used it for all my local journeys. Owing to the shortage of qualified electric car mechanics hereabouts, I entered into a 3 year service contract with the Peugeot main dealer in Chester (20 miles away). Last year...

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

I wasn't expecting it to be free forever. However, the fixed price, no matter how little electricity you use, is unfair. And the price set makes it uneconomic to use my electric car for longer journeys, so i will no longer be doing so. Which hardly helps Ecotricity's stated aim of encouraging...

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

Not very often - when I went on a long journey, and there were charging points I could use to get there. I would be happy if the price charged bore some relationship to the amount of electricity used, and if the cost of running the electric car was no more expensive than the cost of running a...

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

Sorry about that - is this a UK postcode? If so, I will take it up with 38 degrees.

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

Ecotricity have just set prices for charging at their fast charging stations throughout the UK. The price set (£6 for 30 minutes) is grossly unfair to iMiev/Peugeot Ion/Citroen Zero owners, as we are never going to need 30 minutes of charge. In fact, their pricing scheme means it now costs...

Switching electric car charger on and off frequently

I was having my cake and eating it before. Now things are as they should be according to the rules. I get about 48p/kwh for all I generate. I also get just over 3p/kwh for the power I am deemed to have exported, based on half what I generated. And I pay about 14p/kwh for what I import.

Switching electric car charger on and off frequently

Unfortunately the electricity company has recently changed the meter - I used to have one of the really old mechanical meters that went backwards when I was exporting. Now I have one of the new digital ones that don't. (As I understand it, that is how it is supposed to be - you get much less for...

Switching electric car charger on and off frequently

I was hoping to use the charger that came with the car, and just turn the mains power to the charger on and off. The charger turns itself off when the car is charged. I guess I would have to go and unplug the charger, to avoid cycling the charger when charging has finished, otherwise it might...

Switching electric car charger on and off frequently

I have a Peugeot Ion (a badge engineered iMiev). I also have a 4KW solar array, grid linked. In order to make sure I am using all the power I generate (rather than exporting it to the electricity company for free, effectively), I am installing an Immersun immersion heater controller. This...
