    Our Gas Free Miles Travelled

I plan on popping in occasionally - there's always a few interesting posts to read. The ID.3 is nice, and seems very quick (we have the 200+hp version, with a 58Kwh battery). Externally it is a similar size to our Renault Zoe (which has a 52Kwh battery), but it seems so much bigger inside. Both...

    Our Gas Free Miles Travelled

We just part-exchanged the iOn for a new VW ID.3. It served us well for just over 8 years, during which we put just under 50,000 miles on it.

What Other EV's Have You Driven?

I have now driven a 2020 Renault Zoe EV - it's the replacement for our old Toyota Prius "long range" vehicle. 52KWh battery, hitech dash compared with my iON, but still quite a small car, especially by US standards I imagine - might even be a similar size to the US "wider" i-MiEV. Front motor...

    MCU 20A 450VDC fuse investigation

That happened to me too - but luckily still way way cheaper than a new OBC

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

This looks like a similar one to that: https://uk.farnell.com/vishay/s102m59z5uu83l0r/cap-disc-z5u-1000pf-6kv-radial/dp/2944275?st=1nF%206kV#

Good job DBMandrake - great to hear you fixed it and the car is a runner once more

Hi a new guy here - some general questions

I just took a quick look at how many were for sale on "autotrader.co.uk" - they are pretty rare it seems. 2 C-Zero's, 8 iOn's, and 2 i-MiEV's - ranging from just under £6k to £11.5k (there are 5 petrol "i"'s too - these are a lot cheaper, £2.5k to £6.5k) There are 904 used Nissan Leafs listed...

Hi a new guy here - some general questions

As a nearby garage sold loads of these at a discount, they're not uncommon where I live (at the other end of the island from DBMandrake) - mine's one of around 5 in the town I live in, and I'd say they are as common as Leafs and Zoes in this area.

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

I can't get to that link without a login, and my Norwegian isn't good enough for me to register for a userid. There must be a way to take these apart and get them back together without breaking them, but I don't know how. Maybe someone else on here has?

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

I don't have answers to a) and b), but it would be great if someone else did. I went for a much higher voltage range on the ones I bought to replace my blown ones - the ones I bought (from Farnell in the UK - order code 1823305) are rated at 6.3kV.

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

Ta :-) I used some squirty silicone conformal coating - though not as deep as the black stuff that was there before. Not sure I understand why that area is potted, but there are other capacitors on the same board completely exposed. Could it be a high voltage area? I may open it up again and...

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

No problem - and thanks to you and everyone else who has contributed information and experience in the "DC to DC..." thread :D

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

So far, so good - it seems to be charging fine after replacing the 2 capacitors and the fuse.
