At least 2 of the failures in Australia were chargers that had already been replaced under a recall and were only about 18 months old.

That seems to be the case to me. There was a delay of a few weeks while they decided whether to cover it under warranty, then another delay of about 6 weeks waiting for delivery of the charger which was never sent, I'm not sure what happened there, they said something about the part number...

I now have the written records, and it seems like the 'wiring fault' was the MCU fuse. That and the charger were the only things replaced. I have the car back and it is running and charging normally.

I've just been informed our i-MIEV will charge again. All fixed by the dealer. I will see if I can get any more details when picking up, but my current understanding is the charger was replaced, there was also a "wiring fault", and the fuse.

I'm not really sure what is going on, they seem to be saying the fuse is testing OK but they need to replace it anyway. Previous advice was that they had solved the problem. I hope that is correct, but not much I can do except wait.

Still waiting for mine, they say they are now waiting for a fuse, due in December some time. Hope to have it back on the road before the end of the year. They have never said that there wasn't a problem with the charger, just that they found a wiring problem, which may have been an additional...

They said they can give me some more detail next week. Not sure if it will answer that question though. Would be good to know exactly what the wiring issue was so others with problems can check it.

We may be nearing a resolution for ours. Paceway Mitsubishi say they have narrowed down the issue to a wiring concern, have performed a dummy fix and seems to be all good, but still another few weeks wait for the proper replacement parts.

They haven't been all that communicative about the technical side. I don't even know if it is still not just charging or doesn't drive at all now. Will try to find out more.

Swapping the EV-ECU did not fix the problem. Not sure what to do next.

Just got a response from Paceway that they can try it, "BUT can’t take any responsibility if it crashes or something as it is not a new unit." I will get in touch about picking it up.

I'll give you a call. I did ask about keeping the old charger and they said I couldn't but I might try again once it is fixed.

Well my wife has vowed not to get an EV again until they are commonplace. Hopefully that is not too far away. Part of our delay was due to the part number of the charger being changed, which supports the idea that maybe the new charger is different. Maybe it does need a new ev-ecu to go with...

Yes, I drove it in there 5 months ago with no problem, but can't confirm if it still drives. I think someone else had a dealer replace an ECU first when they had a dead charger and it didn't help, so I'm a bit suspicious this is not actually the problem, but they should know better than me.
