The attached chart is interesting. As in it explains why it will be hard to move to a carbon free future.

There is a whole lot of industries that use carbon fuels and therefore have invested...
I am not sure I totally agree that the battery is 50% of the cost of the car any more. The cost of batteries have been going down a lot lately and battery manufactures are investing big in new production. In fact, we will see 12 new giga factories in the world like the one in Nevada being...
New research says we have five years before global temperature increase of 1.5 degrees C is unstoppable. That assumes zero increase of Co2 over said period.
Are we ready for 2 billion climate refugees let alone the couple of million Syrians ? And the world is still asleep at the wheel.

I believe there is a business model for DCQC systems. But you need to connect with other companies like Burger joints and fast food. What I would recommend is that these fast food sell their $25 dollar gift card and with this card you get a free charge. Think about it, you are running low of...
The oil companies can say all they want. They may even slow the conversion to EV down a little but you just can not change the math.

When I went through the battery replacement adventure two years ago, I had the MCU warning light come on (amber car with I). It makes sense that you would get this error if one of the cells is out of voltage range of (2.75v to 4.1 v). If you noticed that this happened mostly when the...
Been driving the car for 3 1/2 years (54,000 km) and needed to replace the windshield wiper (left side) today. The only other out of pocket maintenance was the windshield wiper (right side) done last year. I guess I do not need to send any Christmas cards to my mechanic. :D

I just saw the question from FrostyCanada about details on my -37C travel.
It has only happen once or twice two years ago. My daily commute is 60 Km, 30 km each way.
5 km at 60km/hour
6 km at 80km/hour
10 km at 60km/hour
9 km at 90 km/hour
A few stop lights on the way.
When it is this...
I don't know about anyone else but I have driven here in frosty Sudbury Ontario Canada at -37 C. Was only able to drive just less than 60 km before turtle mode.
Thankfully I was just around the corner from my house.
Feet were frozen and the windshield was hard to keep clear. Don't like...
Here is a comment that was sent by a reader to CBC about electric cars :
"Between 2011 and 2015, there have been approximately 11,000 electric cars sold in Canada. In 2012 alone, there were 1.6 million fossil fuel powered vehicles sold in Canada.
The fact is that electric car technology is...

If this is true, we will be needing a lot of quick charging station in about 7-8 years.

Just read the article below.

Just wondering if the people that actually drive electric believe that 10 years will be needed before more electric cars will be sold than ICE cars.
I question the 10 years...
As we all know in the EV world ( the chicken and the egg) about charging stations. We need more drivers but are handicap in convincing new drivers because we need more public stations.
The other issue is the business model that prevents companies like Chargepoint from expanding as the...
