1pk, thank you very much for posting these videos. They will be a big help to someone like myself with a backup 2016 OBC when (not 'if') it comes time to replace an OBC in one of my 2012s. I admire your willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done and delighted it worked.

Interesting the number of seemingly-minor changes Mitsubishi made, and I would hope that the internal circuit design has been improved.

I was initially confused as you kept referring to the 'inverter', as that expression is usually reserved for a dc-->ac device and the OBC is ac-->dc. For example, our MCU is sometimes called an inverter. Not to worry, I'm picking nits, and we know it's the OBC you're talking about ;)
 
I learned quite a bit performing this swap including the correct names for the parts :lol: .

The next time I spend some time on my car I'll take a video of what the whole installation looks like. I need to check it anyway as some of the connections I made were meant to be "temporary".
 
Those videos were very useful. I am trying to connect the 2012 high voltage connector to a 2013 OBC. The odd are 50-50 that I get it right (or wrong)...
I don't think the videos mention how the wiring was finalized. From what I found, the wires going to the high voltage power connector of the 2012 OBC are color coded red and blue (as visible near the black terminal covers in the i-Miev OBC Power Connector video). Within the 2013 unit, the high voltage wires are labeled CHGP and CHGN.

The red (or pink) wire inside the 2012 OBC is the positive HV output. The blue wire is the negative. The blue wire will be routed to the rightmost terminal lug in the MCU via a small lug screw in the MCU buss bar. The red wire routes to one end of the MCU fuse, the other end of the fuse goes to a small lug screw in the MCU buss bar. Use a voltmeter to verify that no HV is present at the big MCU terminal lugs before touching them.
 
In the newer 2013 OBC, the wires (in fact, those are small busbars once you are in the OBC box) are labeled CHGP and CHGN on the motherboard. Would I be right to assume CHGP is the positive and CHGN is the negative? I will make sure the positive of the OBC connects to the fuse in the MCU...
 
Looking at the 2013 FSM, they changed the connection layout of the MCU to where the Pack negative is the leftmost terminal and Positive is between that and the 3 phases to the motor. There is still a 20A fuse in the MCU on the Positive line.

Maybe this 2013 MCU diagram will help. i think CHGP is likely Positive, but it doesn't show up on any FSM schematics. Trace the line marked with the black arrow back to the OBC and verify that it is CHGP. If it's not then let me know asap so we aren't posting garbage.
