With barely one month of US Sales to report for the Outlander PHEV and dealers clamoring for more inventory, this seems like a perfect time for Mitsubishi to announce a new and improved version for Europe, with more battery, a torquier, more efficient engine, and an upgraded interior. Oh, and don't bother to mention whether the US will get the updated version, or continue to receive the version that debuted four years ago in Europe. At least this should bode well for purchase incentives in the US...

I think North America currently gets the 2016 model year face-lift looking at it, the 2014 and 2015 ones were different, with quite a few upgrades coming in 2015, including some running gear/ software updates...

14-15 model:

Not too impressive at a 100 unit drop to the lowest full month of sales yet at 273, after a peak in March of 373 vehicles. It should be well over 1000. Any idea if they're still 'capacity constrained', or just not marketing the vehicle? The March peak could reflect end-of-the-quarter discounting, which would be a bad sign for such an overdue yet still innovative offering.

As we said somewhere above, we test drove the PHEV. Have we heard anything from the dealer since? Nada. Nor have we seen any advertising locally.

That may explain it.
