I had to transport my utility trailer recently over a longer distance on the highway
From 1 fast charger location destined for another fast charger

Left with 91% battery charge
The trailer was not loaded
Elevation was fairly flat,
Almost all highway
Speed of 50 mph, 80 kmph
Traveled 41 miles, 66 km
Fell short of destination
Made it to a L2 on the turtle

I thought it was a good opportunity to record the results and share .
Video for those interested

The total trip was 53.5 Miles, 86 km.
I managed 41 miles, 66km with a 91% battery charge
The 91% battery charged reading was on
the fast chargers read out screen prior to departure

sandange, thank you for posting. Got a kick out of your "Seasons" description. :)

No doubt, the 50mph (80km/h) speed was the killer, and it would be interesting to give the range another try using slower backroads. Good that you knew where the L2 was before she went into turtle on you. Always easier to push the limits when on one's familiar territory.

My problem with my trailers is not so much the distance as my very steep driveway - light loads (such as small boats) are fine. My 20-mile (32km) round trip to the lumberyard, no problem, but I do leave with 100% SoC.

I think if I had waited to charge to 100%, I would have made it to the next fast charger.
Since I had no load and an alternative L2 option, I wanted to push the limits .
So I tackled highway speeds.
I also wanted to see how the battery has held up after all that mileage.
Also not mentioned in the video was a slight elevation climb of 200ft,
with few slight ups and downs in between.
Overall I'm pretty impressed with the results to date.

Thanks for posting this! useful information for sure.

Curious though, as I could not tell by the angles of the video shots etc. How does the width of your trailer stack up with the width of the i-MiEV? Do you perhaps have a straight on pic from the front or rear? Even better . . . measurements?

Here you go Aerowhatt

I just measured my NORTH AMERICAN i Miev width at the rear wheels
and it's
65" inches, 1.65 Meters

The trailers width at the wheels measure at
75 inches, 1.91 Meters

Trailer is wider by
10 inches, .26 meters
