I bought 7 years old Peugeot iOn drive for almost 1 year now. Recently it occasionally started to show "Exclamation on car" warning light. Manual for this warning says: "Fault in the main electrical circuit. You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop."
Usually it happens when remaining SOC for battery is ~20% (2 bars out of 16 for battery gauge) and disappears after short charging up or if car is switched out for few minutes. I have OBD Link LX adapter and caniOn Android app, but I couldn't find anything abnormal with it, except maybe larger than usual voltage difference between best and worst of batteries.
Does anybody knows what could be actual reason for this warning and what should I do?

Welcome to the forum.

There are several threads where others have posted about having this same sort of issue. Maybe some of this will help you.

Since you have canion, How much difference was there between the max and min cells, and how low is the lowest cell when this occurs?

The first thing to check is the age and condition of your 12-Volt Aux battery (the lead acid starter battery). Sometimes folks can get an unusually long "life" out of these batteries, but when they get old, weak or worn, they can cause this error.

The fact that charging appears to solve the issue temporarily indicates to me that your aux battery may be weak. During chargging the DCDC converter will try to chargge up the aux, so for a brief time it has some extra boost. But it is short-lived in a weak battery and the warning light returns. If you have the original OEM aux battery, then i'm fairly certain that is the source of your issue.

It could be that you have a bad cell, but you should be able to see that with canion. Does it chargge back up to full and show 16 bars on the gauge. Is one or more cells lagging all the rest when full?

There are other issues that can cause the HV warning (! on car), but you would need to get a reading of the Diagnostic Trouble Code, DTC, to troubleshoot the problem. the dealer has a tool to read these, but there are also aftermarket tools that can do this for the miev. i use the iCarsoft model i909 to read these codes, there may be other brands and versions online.

Good Luck and let us know what you find.

I have ODBLink LX with caniOn, but I didn't see anything bad. 12V battery is good and is manufactured in 2017. Because it was summer time, when batteries were hotter, maybe it warned because weakest cell had bigger voltage difference than other cells, or because temperature range was big between cells. Also it could be related to the temperature of converter. I haven't seen this warnings any more, therefore I'll leave it for now and will notify if I'll get some new information.

Actually, it may be OBD adapter, which could cause warning: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2386&start=40#p38793

Can you discharge the traction battery down to 20% as reported in Canion and post a screenshot of the page showing the voltage of all the cells as a graph ? What are the minimum and maximum cell voltages at this time ?

If the voltage of any cell goes below 3.0 volts under load while driving the turtle light will come on and I think it will also set the warning light as normally this low voltage should never happen. It could happen if you have a cell that is failing and has gone high resistance internally.

Speaking of dead traction batteries, anybody know what this cell replacement notion is that I found on the iMiev forum on Facebook?
