I hadn't seen these data on this forum but it was information that I evaluated in making the decision to buy a used i-MiEV.

Hopefully others will find it of interest.

Thanks for posting that - There's some interesting info there, for sure. Real life tests which give real numbers we can believe. I hadn't seen any tests like these before

Comparing Wh/Mi between 45 mph and 70 mph, it nearly doubles from 191 to 360
Range in miles decreases from 69.7 at 45 to 35.6 at 70 - High speed just about cuts range in half. It would be really interesting to see the numbers for 30 mph.

The moral of the story (as we already knew) if you need to go far . . . . SLOW DOWN!

Yes, that INL study was some good work, and IIRC, proved that the iMiEV cells are managed more conservatively than LEAF cells.

Slow riding is usually the key to more distance covered, but at the sub-35 mile spacing of CHAdeMO stations between Tacoma and Portland, OR, neither I nor Gen 1 LEAFS can skip stations on an 80% charge, but I can drive like a demon on all but one hilly 35 mile segment.

I love leapfrogging LEAFs on that trip- beating them to the next fast charger! (followed by friendly banter as they wait 20 minutes instead of me waiting 30 minutes)
