Check with your utility. You might be able to drive on free wind power!

(I put this here as it relates operating cost)

overnight plans that charge higher fees during the day, but nothing between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.M

So, not free really. I am sure that they are making even.

;)

Battery buffer your house and save a fortune  . Bulk charge at night and use battery power during the day. Plus, high percentage of your total usage is wind, and excess at that  :ugeek: .

Here in Maryland, I recently signed up with an alternative electrical supplier that's supposedly 100% wind. Not free, though. :) But actually slightly cheaper than the default mixed-source supply.

Battery buffering the house is a topic that should be explored in detail. Here, we have APS. I can figure the batteries, but there doesn't seem to be any UPL approved hardware to complete the interface to the grid and control the flow of power (unless I am completely missing the boat). Any ideas?

Perhaps we should continue the battery-buffer conversation in this thread (http://www.myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2835) instead? That would leave this thread free for conversation about this plan from the Texas utilities.

Phxmiev, I'll copy your post over and reply in the thread linked above.
