There are a few bargain EVSEs on eBay, but there seem to be more like this:

GE Durastation -- asking $628, $399 on Amazon and Home Depot:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electric-Vehicle-Level-2-EVSE-Charging-Station-18-Ft-Cord-Ev-Battery-Charge-EV-/261844906877

Schneider -- asking $838.60, $548 on Amazon and Home Depot:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Level-2-30-Amp-Wall-Mount-Single-Electric-Car-Charger-2-4-Times-Faster-Charge-/221857316562

Bosch -- asking $836.25, $649 on Amazon:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electric-Car-Charger-Hybrid-Vehicle-Automotive-Plug-Volt-Leaf-Prius-Fiat-Amp-/321819354024

Siemens Versicharge -- asking $1,227.53 (!), $549 at Amazon ($444 if you can live with a 14-foot cord; $849 if you really insist on having it in black):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIEMENS-VC30BLKB-Electric-Vehicle-Charger-30A-Bottom-Fed-G6852806-/271646150290

Unfortunately there are many more examples where those came from. These are all no-bid sales. What are the sellers thinking?

That there's a sucker born every minute?

There are TONS of things on eBay which can be bought much cheaper elsewhere. Compared to the cost of doing an EVSE Upgrade on your factory brick, even the Amazon prices are lots more than I'd be willing to pay. My other EVSE is a home built unit that I made myself using the plans at Open EVSE - Cost me a bit less than $300
