Does anyone have a speed TQ curve for the motor or information on the Drive how different it is vs a "normal" industrial drive.

How many pole is the motor and so on.

There's a torque graph here: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/special/ev/4innovations/index.html
There are no numbers given on the graph, but the official torque number is 145 ft/lbs which is comparable to most 4 cylinder 2 liter engines, if not a little better.

More facts about the drive system are here: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=552

As to the motor - It's an AC synchronous motor with a rare earth permanent magnet rotor. I've yet to find any mention of the number of poles used in the PM rotor, but I would *guess* (based on the theory of operation of this type motor) it's probably several . . . . 15 or 20? The stator coils create a rotating magnetic field which attracts the permanent magnet rotor . . . . the faster the magnetic field created by the coils rotates, the more the rotor accelerates. The RPM of the rotating field and the rotor are (unlike an induction motor) the same - It's 'synchronous'. No moving parts except the rotor and it's bearings. The 'drive system' is comprised of only the 9900 RPM motor directly coupled to the wheel axles via a 7.065:1 reduction gearbox - No transmission as such, no shifting, no clutch, no neutral
