That's effectively what this is, but they're doing it in a weird way -- Nissan is partnering with various electrical companies, and offering a $10,000 subsidy to their customers if they buy a new 2017 Leaf. Note that you can also still claim full federal and state tax credits, if applicable.

2016 models are also eligible.

I just looked up local prices on cars.com, and I think I could get a Leaf for free after rebate and credits. :shock: Although I'm not completely sure on all the tax credits.

Edit: Scratch that, my state's EV tax credit program is depleted. :( But under $4K is still possible.
