Re: Preferred Fast Charger Location Discussion

Very interesting discussion (and a tad aggravating, but I'll get to that in a bit). I think the point about secure 24-hr access is a good one that I hadn't previously considered. Travel plazas with eateries are good for highway country, though obviously less relevant to urban settings (I would add a...

TFLcar clueless i-MiEV review - video

Feel like having an irritated laugh? Check out this cutesy, borderline clueless video review of the 2014 i-MiEV by Emme Hall. http://www.tflcar.com/2014/10/2014-mitsubishi-i-miev-takes-electricity-to-dc-video-review/ The overall feel is that TFLcar lets a party girl do car reviews (that may be unfai...

Autoweek review - i-MiEV and Tesla Model S

In an interesting juxtaposition (the theme being opposite ends of the price spectrum in today's EV market), AutoWeek's Murilee Martin drives the i-MiEV and Tesla Model S. http://autoweek.com/article/car-reviews/electrifying-california-driving-2014-tesla-model-s-p85-and-mitsubishi-i-miev-es The i-MiE...

Re: i Loves gridlock!

. . . as long as the traffic is moving above ~12mph (no heat or aircon), above ~20mph (using aircon), and above ~35mph (using heater) we be ok, as below those speeds our range drops significantly I was thinking about this while reading the earlier posts. The i-MiEV is awesome in stop-and-go traffic...

Re: iMiEV vs. Competition

Watching this back and forth over the "EV-ness" of the Volt brings back many unhappy memories from the car's early days. EVers got pretty snooty about the Volt being just a hybrid with a big battery (which it isn't, that description applying more accurately to the Prius Plug-in or Ford's E...

Re: Why does Mitsubishi recommend fully charging every 2 wee

Oh, mixmike6 - [sigh]. The SCiB issue was discussed and closed long ago - please search the forum for the relevant articles (I am not obliged to undertake the effort just because you won't). Wikipedia ain't exactly the Britannica, but I'm not getting into that. Or just don't believe me - couldn't ca...

Re: Why does Mitsubishi recommend fully charging every 2 wee

Also I'm sure charging it using 120V instead of a Level2 240V will prove to be much better in the long run for the battery pack. No, it won't. Really, really, REALLY it won't. To repeat comments I made in a post last year, I've seen no technical support for the suggestion that L2 charging is "...

Re: Review 2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV

After the usual deprecating remarks about the i-MiEV's looks (although we got a laugh about of the concept that it had 'escaped from a carnival ride'), not a bad review from the Portland Tribune: http://portlandtribune.com/pt/11-features/230967-94976-2014-mitsubishi-miev-bargain-basement-electric-c...

Re: New CA-MiEV concept car

Unfortunately, my dealer thinks this bit of blandness is more likely to emerge from the Mitsu-Nissan joint venture than the CA-MIEV. [http://evworld.com/press/mitsubishi_ekcustom_illustrLF600x400.jpg] In fairness, it will be the next generation of the car shown here, but yes, that's the most likely...

Re: Mitsubishi announces $6K price drop on 2014 i-MiEV!!!

He claimed that the 14's are actually leftover 2012 production that got 're-VIN-ed' and a few items re-worked. Anybody else heard such or found old date codes on their 2014 model? Rubbish. The "SE equipment with ES interior" combination did not exist for 2012 NA models. It's a safe bet Mi...
