Re: lease about to run out

My last comment appears to have generated some confusion, in that I've been asked why I don't think any i-MiEVs will show up at auction. I didn't say that - I said I expect to see " approximately zero i-MiEVs showing up at auction." My point is that there will be so few that the odds of fi...

$10k for a brand new i-MiEV?

Technically neither a review nor news, but this Yahoo! Autos blog post points out that the bizarre web of EV incentives can get our favorite lectro-bug durn close to $10k, and in a very very few cases even below. https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/the-last-new-car-you-can-buy-in-america-for--10...

Re: lease about to run out

. . . If you want another I-MiEV, wait for the auctions (you can track the large house's inventories on-line) and go down and pick one to bid on. I think they are really going to go cheap with oil prices like they are forecast to be over the next several months. Or, just buy a brand new one with fu...

Re: Safety Recall SR-14-007

I live 250 miles from nearest qualified service dealer. Mitsubishi allowed me to use my roadside assistance to get the car to the dealer (in Albuquerque), but I have to get it towed back. It's unfortunate the dealers in El Paso texas are not certified! Do you think I should demand they tow it back?...

A UK Volt haunted by ghosts of Chevys past....

Transport Evolved is a UK web site that follows EVs, showing up on my radar because of their occasional mentions of an i-MiEV staff car (even gets a passing mention in this piece). Here they write up recent problems experienced with another staff car, a Volt purchased just last year: https://transpo...

WashDC radio station posts an i-MiEV writeup

It's a general interest review by someone who's not an EV expert (e.g., like so many casual reviewers, confuses the AVAS with motor noise), but WTOP has published an informative and generally positive look at the i-MiEV: http://www.wtop.com/1397/3734975/Car-Report-Mitsubishi-i-MiEV-is-the-cheapest-w...

Re: One-stop compendium of i-MiEV reviews

Thanks! These are great. I've added this to my i-MiEV / EV bookmarks. It's particularly interesting to see how much more positive reviews are outside the U.S. I still believe the main difference is that other markets are more used to the idea of basic kei-car style vehicles and judge the i-MiEV appr...

Re: Safety Recall SR-14-007

Had the car into the dealer today for the recall and everything went well - software updated and brake pump inspected. Since this car has never left the high desert, there was never much chance of brake pump or under chassis corrosion. Interesting point about vehicle behavior changes, but I noticed ...

Re: Safety Recall SR-14-007

Got my recall notice this weekend, taking the Weeble in tomorrow for the recall and coincidentally annual service. They said they're ready to do the software update, and I figure this being the desert (and with me not traveling on dirt roads), I'm not going to have the brake pump drainage/corrosion ...

Re: Preferred Fast Charger Location Discussion

My take on this is that qc should be used as city connectors first before being placed in cities for convenience This gets back to the basic question of what DCQC is for, and there are legitimate differences of opinion on that. I agree with you in limited circumstances, depending on what you mean b...
