Re: Headlights

I didn't notice mine being aimed too low. And, I'm familiar with headlights being aimed down. On my van, I purposely have the low-beams aimed low. This is because I use it for towing trailers and the added weight of the trailer pushes the rear of the vehicle down. To avoid blinding oncoming drivers ...

Re: Driving in B mode with the I MIEV

I drive in B 90% of the time. I'm sure the computer is programed to protect the motor and the batteries. For example, when I leave my house I drive down a hill, loosing 500 vertical feet. If the batteries are not fully charged, the car will regen heavily all the way down. But, if the batteries are f...

Re: Lithium ion batteries for i-MiEV

... lower production costs to a quarter what they were ... in 2009, said President Makoto Yoda. I assume that is cheaper than today's cost, but it might not be a lot cheaper. I expect their production costs have already dropped substantially in the last 2 or 3 years. Anyway, it has to be good news ...

Re: Forward sheilds are down! Heater, AC, Power stearing Pic

Thanks for the pictures. Which motor coolant line is closest to the heater box (hot or cold line)? I'm not sure but I think the cold line is closer. Because of the battery pack, I can't follow the lines back to the motor area. One line connects to the top corner of one end of the radiator. The othe...

Forward sheilds are down! Heater, AC, Power stearing Pics.

I've always wandered what Mitsubishi meant by "compressor" when they refer to the heater as "Electric compressor cabin heater". Apparently it doesn't mean anything. Today I removed the front shields from the bottom of the car to see the heater. The heater is the aluminum box in t...

Re: Can the dealer set the car not to crawl forward?

Any chance I can get my car to stop crawling? Take a few photographs around the Hall sensor at the top of the pedal. Look for adjustment screws. Mitsubishi probably designed the i to creep forward like a gasoline powered automatic ICE car. I did notice that if you hold the brake pedal just enough t...

Re: Why Two Shifter Encoders?

http://www.caranddriver.com/photos-10q1/335484/mitsubishi-i-miev-transmission-photo-335602 The above is a photo of the first generation iMiev transmission. Why two encoders? It looks like 20 wires in those two connectors. Why? My car is different from the Car & Driver photo. I think there is on...

Can the dealer set the car not to crawl forward?

I highly suspect the answer to my question is NO, but if you don't ask ... Being a manual transmission driver, I find it very annoying to have the car crawl forward (from a stop) anytime I don't have my foot firmly on the brake pedal. The owners' manual mentions that having the lights flash when you...
