Re: Both of my Peugeot Ion's won't charge

Hi,

What circuit board is it that needs repairing?

I'd recommend talking to these guys, very knowledgeable on the imiev/ion/c-zero and they have repaired circuit boards in the past.

OVS Hybrid and Electric Car Repairs (they are on Google or Facebook)

Thanks,

Gary.

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

Hi guys, Just to add, I am also experiencing fluctuating voltage readings on one battery pack and it is also CMU 10 ! Is there something about the placement of module 10 which causes this issue? And did you guys ever manage to fix the circuit board? I have not yet got the board out to inspect so I d...

Re: Battery Capacity Testing

Hi Simon, I'm awaiting delivery of an 8-cell module, as long as the cells are good then i'll be selling most of them as I dont need them. There is also a guy on ebay UK who sells them and someone in europe on facebook who strips down EV batteries and sells the cells (not on the sea shore...). Thanks...

Re: i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

The 10 year / 100k warranty only applied to the first owner, subsequent owners I believe it is 5 years, either way i'm 100% sure its out of warranty !

Re: Both of my Peugeot Ion's won't charge

Hi just wondering how you got on with this? I'm awaiting arrival of a broken i-miev which i'm going to attempt to fix - as far as I can tell it is purely a low cell so I *should* be able to get this one up and running, but i'm always up for helping someone else get their car going. I've built and re...

Depends how electrically confident you are, but it would be worth checking the components in the motor control unit, particularly for capacitor failure.

Whereabouts in the UK are you located?

Thanks.

Re: i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

Hi, any new cells I put in will be somewhere around 50% charge, then hopefully the BMS will be happy to charge them all up to full. I'll get the Canion information out also before dismantling so I know what voltage all cells are at.

Thanks.

Re: i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

Hi all, pbui19 - Cell balancing is not a problem, since lithium batteries do not like overcharge, they are installed with a BMS which will balance charge all cells to the correct voltage, as happens in the i-miev. So as long as I have decent cells and get them within the 3-4.1v range it should charg...

Re: i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

Hi there, thanks for your input. I do like playing with batteries but would like to get it working fairly quickly if possible so appreciate your input. You are right that with the battery pack in the car is the fastest way to find bad cells. I'll order the ODBC adapter and I have an 8 block of the c...

i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

Hi all, I am the owner of an i-miev from the UK - it is a 2011 with 11k miles, and has been sat for a few years unused, ever since one cell went low and the BMS refused to charge (I have never driven it, I bought it in this state to try and save it from the scrap yard !). I am going to take out the ...
