Re: Best value software & hardware to diagnose car

Hi,

I used an icarsoft i909 to diagnose a failed LTC voltage monitoring chip on my 2011 i-miev. The detail it gave on errors was very good.

They are around £90 new but I found one for £50 second hand.

Thanks.

Re: Got the RBS and car with exclamation mark through it errors.

Just to add to this issue - i've seen this before. The "gearbox" has 2 sensors, both have to agree for the car to be happy to drive. The sensors tell the car what gear it is in, if they differ then you get these kind of issues. First try can be to lubricate the mechanism by the gearbox, if...

Re: Single LEV50-cell wanted for our Citroen C-Zero

Hello, again: one cell does not reach end of charge cell voltage anymore. Hi, I notice your screenshot is at 85% charge - does it have the same voltage as other cells when the battery is fully charged, or is that as far as it will charge up? Looks like the cell is faulty, these cells are hard to ge...

Re: Another i-MiEV Battery Pack Failing...? Help!

Hi yes they are 50AH cells. Seems like you've got a dead cell, although the screenshots from Canion and MUT dont really match up, plus you have the fault code for Voltage Sensor. Drop the pack out, test each cell with a multimeter, see if any are actually low. If they are, you'll need replacement ce...

Re: Another i-MiEV Battery Pack Failing...? Help!

Hi there, I've fixed the fluctuating voltage issue (caused by failed chip in the battery pack) on my i-miev and from looking at your pictures it is pretty certain that you have a cell which has a low capacity compared to the others. The next task would be to remove the main drive battery and find th...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

Sorry my cells are still not here, i'm relying on a favour to get them shipped 400 miles for free, so basically have to wait until the guy is close to me to get them ! Hoping for soon.

Thanks.

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

Hi, Sounds reasonable - the battery pack is fairly tall so I ended up with blocks under the wheels - 12" high both sides, still the pack could not slide out, had to put another couple of inches under the wheels one side to get it out so you may need blocks to put the axle stands on, but see how...

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

Hi, About the diagram posted by Kiev, does it match in your experience ? So my faulty module (CMU 10 in diagbox and cells 71-74 in Canion) would be right under the passenger seat ? I can put my car on stand no problem, but I have no clue how to support and lower the pack once unbolted :/ Well it de...

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

Are you saying only one is needed to switch the car on (without "ready") and read values with Canion ? In that case, which one is it ? Hi, It will not go to ready without the big orange cables connected but all you need is to run diagnostics to check if you have identified the correct CMU...

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

Since it is likely you cannot see the failure (for me the chip looked fine but did not work properly) If you want to confirm that you have the correct battery module, just disconnect the little communications connector, then reconnect the battery pack multi plugs and check the battery voltages, the ...
