Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

The repair guy says that if we're going to swap the CMU_10 board we need to source a used CMU_10 board (not another number). I've been reading the CMU firmware. It's hard going for me, but there is definitely a mechanism for "numbering" the CMUs. In fact, it seems to me that this happens ...

Re: MUT3/MUTIII Clone Software

'Starting of a batch file went wrong.' It might be permissions on a batch file. Mine has about a dozen batch files; perhaps check permissions on all of those and make sure that they are executable. is your software specifically for the MUT3? Oh, yes, and with the i-MiEV specific extras, which are t...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I can't anyhow remove bottom board that has filter relay and burned capacitors. How it's done. I thought about replacing them. But they seems glued to the heat exchanger This is the post from the index on the first page about the bottom board, it might help some: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic....

Re: MUT3/MUTIII Clone Software

Can anyone help with a copy, please? The MUT3 has "Model X005T79471 Lot No 5Z31 on the back. I have the 2012 CD-Rom with the i-MiEV extras. I've never had any success actually installing the software; I assume my Windows isn't old enough, or I need the actual MUT hardware, or something else. I...

Re: new program for monitoring charge readings

... it's only the 88 cells page (which shows all cells on one page instead of per CMU) that is incorrect. I believe that he needs to multiply those values (ignoring the decimal point) by 5 (for 5 mV per sample), and add 2100, to get the result in mV. For example, 397 x 5 + 2100 = 4,085 mV = 4.085 V...

Excellent! Maybe the engineers still won't listen, but at least they'll hopefully now be aware of the issue.

Re: Weird Charging Curve

I have found that calling ChargePoint and asking them to reboot that station will get the rate to return to 3kW, ... I guess it also has the effect that the staff notice "geez, we're getting a lot of calls about low charge rate, maybe there really is something wrong that the engineers should b...

CAN bus messages on the BMU to CMU private bus

CAN bus messages on the BMU to CMU private bus I'll attempt to give these messages in the format of Decyphering iMiEV and iON CAR-CAN message data . Since these messages are only on the private BMU to CMU CAN bus, and seem to be modified when they reach the BMU and the main vehicle CAN bus, this wi...

Re: Care and Feeding of the OBC/dc-dc

Pressing the button alone without withdrawing the J1772 Turbocord caused the Volt to shut off charging and noticeably turned the charging light on the dash off. Did you hear the contactor in the EVSE drop out as well? Was there a short but discernible (less than a second) delay between pressing the...

Re: Turning OFF power to the car when charging

There are four ways that the car turns off charging - 1. When it is fully charged, the OBC sends a shutoff signal to the EVSE which stops the power flow By this time, the charge current has reduced to a small fraction of rated current. But the principle is still the same (see below). 2. When timed ...
