Re: The Geek Squad Charger Installation

JoeS - There are more than a few things off with GeekSquad & Mr. Electric! My experience with GeekSquad was similar - the guy who came out barely knew what he was doing, validated nothing, and I had to explain what circuits we had in the box. For their part, Mitsubishi never asked me about the v...

setting the clock display

Anyone figure out how to get the clock to display in 12h time? It seems to show only 24h time, and neither the manual nor fiddling with it yielded a way to change it!

Re: Better charging controls

Aha - careful reading of the owner's manual indicates that function of the remote might be sneakier than appeared. It seems that if you on one day, at 9pm, use the remote to delay the charging by 3 hours (to midnight), then the next day, if you plug in the car at say 7pm and turn on the remote, it w...

Re: Let the Hacking Begin

Actually, I for one, like that the remote is not cell-phone enabled: I don't want to pay a fee for some service to talk to the car in my driveway! (I think the Leaf you have to pay monthly after 3years -- other cars, paying for the cell service to the car is baked into the purchase price.) Now, hack...

Re: Better charging controls

It is an open question on if it will work with a timer: If you follow the instructions, and plug the EVSE in to the power source first, then plug it into the car, indeed it starts charing immediately (though we don't know if you've set a delay with the remote if the delay reapplies, or is reset afte...

Better charging controls

The controls over when the vehicle charges leave a bit to be desired: You plug the car in, it starts charging immediately. Then you use the remote to set a number of hours of delay (in half hour increments), at which point the car stops charging and waits for that time period. Given my electric rate...

Re: proud new owner of an 'i'

I'd love to have the EVSE installed by the end of the year to get in on the Federal credit. However, the unit we want is "backordered" at Home Depot by three weeks, and they won't charge us for it until it ships! Going to go talk with them about it in person.

Re: proud new owner of an 'i'

I think we placed our reservation last May! I had forgotten it was so long ago! I finally got around to call about a site survey in September, and they came in early October. They were useless: The inspector barely had a clue what he was looking at, and mostly measured distances from the various ele...

We just drove ours home (in Mountain View, CA): https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9EI1-jfDazA/TvULZvBaa5I/AAAAAAAAAPQ/QiQPW9CfIPw/IMG_0842.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-F13ojXkhg24/TvULaEfEGdI/AAAAAAAAAPs/n_oWpRDLo1s/IMG_0845.jpg Still no EVSE installed, leaning toward the Legrand.

Re: Wraps

While Mitsubishi has now announced the available wraps in the US , they don't hold a candle to the amazing ones they offer for the UK edition of the car. What's up with that? Why do manufacturers insist on pigeon holing markets? I love the UK ones, but find the US ones dull by comparison. In any eve...
