Re: The Geek Squad Charger Installation

Geek Squad? :P Fuggedaboutit! I simply told my dealer that the EVSE was already installed and they were happy (didn't even have the right form in hand yet for me to sign a waiver). I went with the SPX Level II EVSE. It'll pass up to 32 amps if I ever get a hungrier vehicle, (but has user-adjustable ...

Re: Open up your delivery schedule

imievnews, I doubt they're worried about sufficient electrical service. Numerous studies have shown that the grid has more than sufficient capacity to absorb EVs. This car only pulls 3300 Watts on a dedicated, idiot-proof Level II circuit. (Same as the Leaf, while the Focus is set for 5500W.) My clo...

Trailer hitch is now available

I just got off the phone with Torklift Central, who has completed development and testing of their iMiEV trailer hitch receiver, both in 1.25" and 2". No cutting of the rear apron required, as with the LEAF. They are available for shipping now, not by the end of Jan as the website s...

Re: Reserve/Receive Dates

I showed up at the dealer the day that the first batch came off the boat and pre-purchased one of their two demo cars (12/5), a silver ES. It's entire demo career was a day with me, and then it sat in the showroom for the rest of the month while the SE with the decals served as a driver... ;) I took...

Re: First Washington State Owner

i took delivery of my i on Dec 29th. I did so by showing up at the dealership on the day they came off the boat (Dec 5th) and pre-purchasing the demonstrator. It spend one day as a demo (for me) and then sat in the showroom for the remainder of it's demo period. After putting 500 miles on the car, I...

my i is for sale, take immediate delivery

The i qualifies for the full $7500 credit. I'll be an early test case, as mine was delivered on Dec 29th, and I pay quarterly taxes. I may also be a test case because I've got buyer's remorse about not stepping up to get the ChaDeMo quick-charge inlet. The first public quick-charge station on...

Re: Let the Hacking Begin

Sorry I've been away, this forum is really taking off! I took delivery of my car on Dec. 29th, and am just about to pass the 500 mile mark on the odometer. The car's a hoot to drive, and meeting my range expectations. As an experienced EV owner with a highway commute, I had no illusions about the EV...

Re: Let the Hacking Begin

In all seriousness, I wouldn't do anything to void the warranty until I was extremely familiar with the vehicle, sure of the need, and financially prepared to deal with the consequences... But, there's a lot that we should be able to do without voiding warranties, such as pulling data from the OBD, ...
