Re: I-Miev airbag warning light on

Yes, I use the iCarsoft 909 a lot. It will definitely clear airbag codes, as long as nothing else was damaged. I'm still figuring out which airbag codes are "hard codes" that immediately re-trigger even if you leave a blown airbag disconnected, such as the "open squib".

Re: i-MiEVs Reviewed on Used Market

Thanks Don, btw- what's a good price on T-105s these days. The depressed value of scrap lead never seems to carry over to cheaper batteries. A T-105 was in the $60 range 20 years ago..

Re: Onboard charger repair

That’s some bad luck, sorry to hear. Please note that your car should DC Fast charge normally, but you’ll need to manually recharge the 12V battery and preferably run an auxiliary 12V input, such as through the cigarette lighter- style 12V outlet. I’d recommend getting a collision salvage charger an...

Re: Back Seat Lever

Yup, we use the driver's seat height lever every time my wife and I switch driving, which has been several times per week for the last 8 years. Pull up for up, push down for down, no problems. No height adjustment for the rear seat, only setback tilt.

Re: Back Seat Lever

If you pull out the rear seat bottom (up at the front, then pull forward) the seat back hinges can be unbolted for servicing the mechanism. Also a good time to inspect the flat tire kit. If the seat back tilt mechanism is broken, I have a full rear seat in brown, and one in black.

An I-MiEV in Parade Magazine

If any of you Americans still get a Sunday paper, page 6 of today’s Earth Day commemoration in Parade features a blurb which reads “ They’re driving electric cars to reduce air pollution in New Jersey. Learn about electric cars at energy.gov.” Of course the photo they used is of a Euro-spec triplet ...

2014 Salvage (blue)

Hello MiEVers, As started on the i-bargains thread, I have salvaged a crashed 2014 that only had 14k miles on the odometer, blue with a black interior. It was hit hard in the passenger door, a topic that I intend to explore elsewhere with some photos and analysis. I have stripped all the usable comp...

Re: i-bargains

As I continued digging into the salvage 2014 I found a key and it started right up, with a full dash of errors. 14 bars on the gauge with 66 miles RR and only 14 K on the odometer were good signs. I connected the MUTIII clone, and not only were the cells perfectly balanced and SOC 82%, but the capac...

Re: i-bargains

Here's a general note on passing your old cars along: CLEAN OUT YOUR STUFF! Even if the car is totaled in an accident, if you survive, remove all personal documents. In the salvaged 2014, along with a set of stainless cookware, a dozen UNBROKEN eggs that were four months old, and a burst 6-pack of c...
