Re: Duosida EVSE

.... A guy who is selling these on ebay out of New York stated that it will switch itself to dual phase 240V mode when it senses two hots and a neutral incoming and to single phase 120V when it senses one hot and one neutral and ground incoming which does make sense. Would be nice to have this veri...

Re: Duosida EVSE

It is true that solid info about the amps being drawn by one of these from a single phase 120V plug would be useful. A 6-20 plug with a sideways spade is still only single phase even if it is 20A. From what I can tell, Justoneman, you are not using dual phase 240V on this duosida yet. That would ta...

Re: Duosida EVSE

...My reason for doing this is to focus on this particular EVSE and to flag a potentially dangerous situation using the Duosida EVSE on a 15A 120vac outlet (if someone makes the wrong adapter ). This is dangerous? What I am doing is dangerous? You are not doing anything dangerous, as you are using ...

Re: Why not a RoadPro heater?

I seem to be replenishing (at home) at a rate of at least 7 bars in 5 hours. My outlet is a 20 amp but I am a little confused by the markings on my main service. I have not opened it up to trace the wires back to the garage outlet or tried flipping the breaker to identify. I believe it is a 15 amp ...

Re: Duosida EVSE

I've tried to consolidate all the Duosida posts into this new thread. Another example of why we shouldn't combine subjects in our posts. If I missed some Duosida posts in this transfer, please let me know via a PM. My reason for doing this is to focus on this particular EVSE and to flag a potential...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

I have a Duosida EVSE. Its a 16amp 240. It has a 20 amp plug type I have the 20 amp outlet type. I made a 10AWG extension for it and a conversion whip to use on a standard 10amp outlet type.... justoneman, thanks for this input and the photos. I'm a bit confused: when you say you made a "conve...

Re: Why not a RoadPro heater?

With 120vac available at work, that's not a bad commute at all! My own rules of thumb - With an 8A 120vac EVSE, the replenish rate is four bars for five hours of charging. With a 12A 120vac EVSE, the replenish rate is six bars for five hours of charging. With your nine hours at work, you should com...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

A guy in Gilbert AZ on ebay is offering the duosida for $200 though I can't tell if has them or is backordering or what. I put a question to him asking if it is user programmable for various amps on 120vac. Not answered yet. One thing I don't get though...is a US early i-miev limited to 8 amp charg...
