Re: PR: GS Yuasa to double driving range

That would be great if the 170km claim for the existing i-Miev was true....

Add this to the long list of "I'll believe it when I see it in cars available for sale" battery claims...

Re: I Just Noticed That The Ammeter Moves When The Heater Is Turned ON

i think the power scale is marked with 50A divisions with full scale at 150. The center of C in ECO is halfway to 50, so i would call that 25. The power meter on the dashboard measures power, not current as far as I know. Where did you get the information that it measures current ? Split that dista...

Re: additional electric heater

The built in heater in the car actually peaks at 5.5kW during warm up, although it typically settles down to about 3kW once the selected flow temperature is reached. (The temperature knob controls the flow temperature of the water through the heater matrix, not the cabin air temperature - it's up to...

Re: Fuel gauge vs tortoise

I do have an Android phone. Where do I get the other gizmo? I bought a code scanner a few years ago but it never produced anything intelligible. Car charged up to 15 miles/3 bars again today, no real gain vs. Yesterday. If you already have an Android phone download "Canion" from the play ...

Re: Fuel gauge vs tortoise

Do you have an Android phone or tablet capable of running Canion ? If so, do yourself a favour and get an OBDLink LX so you can use Canion - this will give a wealth of information about the state of the traction battery, including the BMU reported Ah capacity, individual cell voltage and pack voltag...

Re: Buying a used 2011 iMiev from Norway

38.1Ah and 38.3Ah are both very good for the mileage, so I would go by other factors, in particular age. There is no 100% guarentee that the September 2012 car is using the new cells as we don't know the exact cutoff date but you at least have a good chance whereas the 2011 car will definitely not h...

Re: Older Leaf driving impression (good value)

i've been driving a 2012 Leaf for the past couple of months to do some troubleshooting and repair verification. And it is a very nice car with some great features that Mits don't have. Here's some notes and observations. Thanks for the useful post kiev. I'm actually strongly considering replacing m...

Re: Brake warning light and loud buzzer?

Is it the low brake vacuum warning buzzer you're hearing ? Turn the car on to ready and rapidly pump the brake pedal through its full stroke a few times as quick as you can and you should trigger the warning light and buzzer for the brakes due to low vacuum, however it should recover after a few sec...

Re: Buying a used 2011 iMiev from Norway

Hey DBMandrake, Thanks for the input. My expected commute will be around 20-30 miles round trip at most, I plan to put on around 7-8 thousand miles on the car and hoping to have the car for 3-4 years. Is this a feasible plan to have and not have the battery die on me in the process? I also have a p...

Re: Turtle at Half Charge Under Load?!?!?!

0.6 volt difference at 50% SoC is huge, and will definitely trigger the turtle mode. Either you have a faulty cell, or a faulty LTC voltage monitoring chip on one of the CMU boards in the battery pack that is causing an intermittent faulty voltage reading for a cell. Both issues have been documented...
