Should have kept my mouth shut - my OBC has just failed today! About to start a new thread for it... :(

Re: Is this considered Pack Failure?

What you're describing is a pack with two cells that have a lot less capacity than the rest. In that case they will be balanced at 4.1 volts / 100% SoC but the voltage will rapidly diverge from the other cells as the pack discharges. This is to be expected. This is why I've always said that the cell...

Re: Add another OBC Failure

You might get to keep the old one if you ask the dealer, after it gets released on the scrap list (6 weeks to 2 months). Then it would be informative to open the cover and see if it failed on the AC input or DC output side. It's so sad that these things aren't holding up, like really, the charger s...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

Hello DBMandrake and hello to all others in this very interesting forum, My name is Sandro from Milan, Italy. Sorry for my poor English. I own a C zero and I have 2 friends with C zero too. My second hand C zero of 2011, has only around 24000 km, 14k of them driven by me since I bought it in Oct 20...

Re: Replaced My Pack!

Neither of your two sets of figures make sense to me, once seems extremely optimisitc one very pessimistic ?

When mine was at 39.9Ah my summer range was 63 miles and winter about 43 miles. Now it's at 32.8Ah my summer range is 54 miles and winter range 35 miles...

Re: I-Miev stopped charging

I would start by measuring the 12v battery in the car and perhaps connecting a smart battery charger to it for a few hours if it seems low.

Has the car been left to sit a lot recently or has it suddenly died in normal regular use ?

Re: Trouble with gearbox, un-drivable at the moment

 I drove to work today, parked and plugged in as I always do. When I left at the end of the day the car was slow to move, it seemed like the e-brake was still on but it wasn't. I pressed harder on the accelerator and it lurched repeatedly as it moved forward almost like something in the gearbo...

Re: Turtle at Half Charge Under Load?!?!?!

I ended up buying a scan tool and the cells that are lower are 10 and 11. About .4v to .6v at 50% load range has definitely took a hit also. So two cells are 400-600mV lower than the rest ? At 50% SoC ? That's massive - I'm surprised the car would drive at all. Careful diagnosis would be ne...

Re: PR: GS Yuasa to double driving range

I've said it before but it wouldn't take much of a refresh to make the i-Miev into a viable small city car even with today's competition. 1) Increase the battery capacity to double the range to a real world 120 miles. There are still a few EV's launching today that only have 120 to 150 miles range. ...

Re: I Just Noticed That The Ammeter Moves When The Heater Is Turned ON

The power meter on the dashboard measures power, not current as far as I know. Where did you get the information that it measures current ? 5kW is enough to drive at a constant 30mph, and the needle will be much higher when driving at 30mph with the heater off than with the car stationary and the h...
