Re: 12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

The latter, it should not draw 150 watts unless something plugged in is consuming > say 125 or 130. Otherwise the thing would get hot enough to melt carpet :)

Also, there is a fuse yes? The fuse protects the wire and socket.

Re: Led indicator to show charging

I have no answer for you. OTOH, the EVSE (both the stock one and the Clipper Creek one I normally use) has leds on it, can't you arrange the brick so it is visible from a distance?

Re: Maintenance ??

Check the level and condition of the oil in the gearbox, @40k kilometers there is an argument for changing it but it is not req'd.

Check brake pads and linings, likely fine.

Cabin air filter, replace.

Personally I'd change the brake fluid around that mileage and time, say after 4 or 5 years.

Re: New Owner from Spain

I can't see pictures in his post at all. If using chrome, right click on the link and choose open in a new tab. Dunno what to tell you on charging but that parking situation is insane. All I can say if you must park it tight to the wall like that is pull in rather than back in and climb over the sh...

Re: EVBatMon Readings

Sounds good, how many actual miles do you get with the 45+ ah?

Mine has dropped .1 to 40.5. I am up to just under 5k miles since the end of May. Last weekend my son and I did 62 miles of mostly 50-55 mph highway driving, range meter flashing @4 pulling into the drive way.

Re: New Owner from Spain

FWIW, the end of the slab in my garage is about 1" higher than the driveway. In other words, it ends and drops down then the garage door comes down 6" or so further out. I run my J1772 lead right in that corner and leave it there with the handled stored in the center area between the two c...

Over the course of a full charge LED lights will probably give you an extra 20 feet of range :D

Re: New Owner in Northern VA

LOL, I know what you mean. Unless your trip is > 30 miles that method works fine. I say > 30 because your speed and climate usage vary the range enormously. If you are in Northern Va. just keep in mind that you could drag the miles available below 40 if you hopped on a highway with medium traffic an...
