Re: Private For Sale Rules

Here's a Silver 2012 i-miev (almost exactly like mine), a base model i-miev with 32,700 miles in the South of Santa Rose, CA area for $5500. I can't tell if it has quick charge though. I'm tempted to get it and start my own i-miev fleet as others have done here. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nb...

Re: An Article on Over Inflating Your Tires

Excellent find Don. Just replaced the stock tires with the Yokohama Avid Envigor and yes there is about a 10% REDUCTION in range. Tried different tire pressures but no significant difference. Thanks again for all you do to keep us informed and in line. Joe Did you take into consideration tire diame...

Re: Attached Garage Air Conditioner

Looks clean and professionally installed. The only thing I notice is the extra coiled up line set behind the compressor but that's okay. The system was pre-charged for that amount of copper anyway. What kind of connectors do they use for the line set?

Nice work! Thanks for showing us.

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

I have noticed in the past how warm the interior of my car gets while charging on L2 (I'd say about 90 degrees with the windows up) so I started using my home DIY upgraded Mitsubishi evse that someone posted about here last year where you change out a small power supply and the cord plug and and it ...

Congrats on achieving 100 k miles. It seems that the battery in the 2014 is very robust.

Btw: I see from the map that you’re from the Montreal area. I just finished with a conference in the Point Claire area. Very close!

Re: Does this belong to anyone?

A woman in Oakland has one like this. I can't remember her name but she let me test drive hers 3 years ago which lead to me buying a used 2012. In fact, I will have had it 3 years next month.

Re: Santa Monica Boulevard

Did the guy run over a piece of steel? That's happened before. I believe the car will tell you to pull over and exit the vehicle while the flames vent out the bottom. I think we're going through another negative news media blitz similar to the Toyota Prius one 10 years ago where a Prius battery fail...

Re: 12V battery BCI Size?

. . . . but a flooded lead acid battery in a lithium powered car just seems so . . . . Twentieth Century  Don That would be great if they could find a dc to dc converter robust enough to power all the controls and accessories without a lead acid battery. Obviously it would have to be powered u...

Re: Gas Cans --> Electric Mowers

Coincidences, coincidences! Our 40 volt weedeater is a Ryobi that we bought from Home Depot 4 or 5 years ago - It's been great. The weedeater battery is only 2 Ah though, so I thought it probably wouldn't be good in the mower Don Yes coincidenes! My weedeater battery is a 2.6 Ah and did very well. ...

Re: Gas Cans --> Electric Mowers

We just bought a 19" Kobalt mower with a 5 Ah 40 volt battery to use as a trimmer mower around the yard. With more than an acre to mow, sometimes every single week (with sun everyday and rain once or twice a week, everything grows FAST) it would never do for the majority of the yard, but it's ...
