Re: CHAdeMO Questions

Sounds like it. Does it charge at all or does it trip immediately after the safety checks? I'm wondering if the port's polarity is backwards on the car side. From within 10 seconds or less after the safety check. The battery symbol comes up on the display and fills it in green up to the level that ...

Re: CHAdeMO Questions

i have tried at least a dozen times at the local Eaton dcqc with no luck, the main breaker kicks inside the charger box and requires a maintenance call to reset. My local miev racing buddy went down there this past week to give it a go-- and it worked fine for him with no problems. Hmm...looking lik...

Any success for Miev at an Eaton Chademo?

There is a local DC fast charger available downtown, Fountain Circle Eaton Chademo . It seems to work for the nissan leaves, but always trips out the internal breaker whenever i have tried to charge. i think it was donated by the nissan dealer--but do the Eaton chargers maybe not like little meves? ...

Re: Battery only charging halfway

Did you get a canion reading of cell 10 voltage compared to the rest? Is cell 10 just really very low or is the whole pack now lower overall? It's all very curious that cell 10 can't be charged...? Sure will be interesting to someday get the source code to see what the controller is doing, or thinks...

2016 i-Miev model options

It looks like there will be only one model for 2016, the ES--no more SE (too confusing using the same letters anyway), priced starting at about $23k But it comes standard with Level 3 charging (the dcqc chademo connector in left side port). And 15" alloy wheels are standard (no more steel wheel...

Re: Noisy coils

When current flows thru a coil of wire, an inductor, or a motor winding, etc. it creates a magnetic field around the wire and thru the center of the coil. Each coil, loop or turn in the winding has it's own magnetic field, and when the current changes direction the magnetic field reverses also. Thes...

Re: New owner from Chicago, IL of a 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV S

Occasionally i will hear that also. i think it is a normal electronic sound of the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) circuit used in a 3-phase inverter. Nothing to be worried about, you just have young ears with no hearing loss yet, the noise will go away as you get older.
