Tesla S CAN buss cell data

The tesla guys have finally cracked the CAN buss for their cars and are starting to get huge piles of data including the 96 brick (74 cells in parallel) voltages and temperatures. i'm trying to parse some of it but not sure what tools to use to see 96 voltages at a time on a graph and then animate t...

Re: Battery cell failing at just 2900 km (1800 miles)

Make sure that it's a real LX from scantool and not a counterfeit scamtool being sold on ebay--there are some out there that 'look' like the LX but are using elm chip internal and won't work.

Re: Temperature Control's Green Dot

And was the RR affected by the switch position as well?

if so then it seems like an alignment issue with the rotary switch underneath the dash and the indicator dial, i.e. the switch is loose in the housing.

haha, tigger's gonna jinx the weather...

Re: Winter Driving

The yaw and g sensors also contribute to the ASC, so having the side of the car jacked up on a snow ramp might throw a signal that causes it to cut off the wheel torque, especially if the switch was thrown while the wheel was spinning. The front and rear wheel speeds are also used in both ABS and AS...

Re: exclamation point inside of car error light?

+1 on replacing the 12V battery. It's probably 4 years old and has many cycles--it is at or nearly at the end of useful life, and is the most likely cause in my analysis. A trickle charger is not sufficient to fully charge a drained battery overnight. The dealer probably fully charged it on a real c...

Re: OVMS for Mitsubishi i-Miev, Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot i

I wonder what would be required to bribe the devs into adding pre-heating and charger control. Although I'm not sure that the Mitsu has charger control from the can bus. i was wondering about that today also, then looked it up on the schematic--indeed the on-board charger is on the CAN2 buss. i wan...

... The steering seems fine but the steering wheel neutral position is slightly offset clockwise by a few degree. ... I do NOT have a remote for the car.. wonder if you can track down the previous owner and see if they have it sitting around. or, go to ready mode with the ignition key while still plugged in/charging with the EVSE and turn on the defroster/heater--will this work similar to what the remote does?...

Re: Interpreting a battery capacity test

Those terms of description of the tests do not sound familiar to me at all--the service manual has procedures for using the Mitsu Universal Tester, aka the MUT, to measure the capacity, both from values stored in memory, and by doing a battery drain and recharge test. Maybe those are from the stored...
