Re: Foot Warmer Heated Pad

I was thinking that would those 12V seat heater pads mean to be installed permanently inside the seat work in the floor. Remove the carpet, perhaps add some insulation below the pad, install pad and replace carpet on top. Would they have enough power to made a different in the footwell? Or would it ...

Re: Canion

I have a problem on the Moto G that causes the phone to somehow screw up it's pairing with the OBDLink. It happens more or less randomly, but if I leave CaniOn running while the car is off (no CAN traffic) it's more likely to happen than not. The sympton is that CaniOn fails to connect with the adap...

Re: Solutions for windshield fogging in cold weather?

No, it doesn't run the electric heater while charging, unless you have the remote to turn it on. With the french versions there is no remote, so we're stuck with no heat during charging. Unless one has a fuel heater installed, since it will still blow air thru the heat exchanger and the fuel heater ...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

Yes, I could see more "coolant" might be beneficial, if you have pre-heat. Sadly, the french editions have no pre-heat at all. No remote and no way to get the car heat itself while plugged in. Nothing. I wonder if someone might be able to capture the appropriate CAN message which triggers ...

Re: Additional pack

I believe he has a 144V Curtis and since the packs are 60-ish Volts each he has them two in parallel and then in series. These are the packs he's got: http://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=4&products_id=329&osCsid=bkv5mk0og48b3vqtcsdlibrj16 They're from Smart EV, originally by...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

Then again more coolant means more energy needed to heat it up initially (especially bad if the burner goes out) and it will also take longer to get it up to temperature. More piping and tanks will probably always mean more surface to radiate heat out. In my DIY I'm happy that the tank is not in the...

Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

So it probably looks for a set resistance on the third brake light, which I guess is what the "CANBUS" lights provide as well via dedicated resistor. Correct me if I'm wrong. Having only one traditional lamp in there would of course mean that when that single lamp goes out you'll get the e...

Re: 2009 i-miev charging incompatibility

I tried a straight cable with my 2011 C-Zero, just left out the box, but it wouldn't charge. So I'm willing to say no, later models will no charge without the communication.

DVDs? Those plastic discs with moving pictures on them? ;) Why not just watch Netflix or Youtube on a tablet. That way you can watch new stuff and not just re-runs. Or read a book or two on Kindle. I've actually come up with more stuff to do than I've actually had time to accomplish.
