Re: Measured Wall-to-Wheels Consumption

Of 439mi tracked I used 155.1kWh to charge giving me: 2.83mi/kWh 353Wh/mi on average JoeS, recently the "elephant in the room" has been called out as being unlikely. Apparently Lithium Ion batteries may last longer than estimated. Excerpt: ”Lithium-ion batteries should perform better becau...

Battery technology

Battery Capacity loss is something that has been discussed in a variety of posts in this forum. Here is an article by a BMW Active-E owner who has driven 44,000 miles and so far is experiencing about 8% capacity loss. Since capacity loss is not linear, and is based on a host of factors, there is no ...

Re: Head Rest

Are there any non-rummaging-through-busted-cars solutions? Preferably something that can be ordered over the web.

Re: Heater seems wimpy, especially when remote preheating?

FWIW, I had more success heating the car using the defrost setting rather than the heater. So far I've been connected to a 110V outlet.

If anyone finds a good replacement that is inexpensive, I'm interested in replacing my head rests.

Battery technology

Well, I love electric cars and rechargeable battery is the most expensive component of a car. However, researchers are working on improved battery technologies to increase driving range and decrease recharging time, weight, and cost. I also heard form a friend of mine that there are serious safety ...

Re: Driving on the motorway

Gentlemen, allay your fears. I drive mine on the motorway/highway all the time getting into New York CIty. Average speed around here is in the upper 60's to low 70's. Also we have some highways with climbs up some significant hills and I still can gain speed while going up, though somewhat slowly. H...

Re: Should I buy an iMiev with the dealer 200 miles away

As long as you have the flatbed, you should be fine. Expect to return about 2-4x per year for updates or service. One of the beautiful things about electric cars is their simplicity vs gas cars, so there is far less maintenance in general. Good luck!

Re: Warmer temps' effect on range

Got mine in Feb in North Jersey and the long winter has been rough. Mostly had been getting around 2-2.5mi/kWh, but now am much closer to 4mi/kWh. Could probably squeeze 5mi/kWh on a fine day like today!

Re: WHAT CAN I DO TO INCREASE SALES OF THE CAR?

I'm afraid I haven't read the entire thread, but here are my 2 cents. To help sales, get out there and go to events and talk with people about the car. A few of us in northern NJ go to Cars & Croissants events and park next to Lamborghini, Maserati, and other supercars. Almost all the gearheads ...
