Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

Also, in one of the pics I thought I saw the Rasberry i-Miev? I do still have the raspberry water-damaged iMiEV. The electronics are shot. Body panels are all brand new. There's only a few parts missing off of it, most notably the rims. If somebody wants to buy parts, or the whole thing, make me an...

Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

I installed a Torklift Central tow bar on my car! A bunch of photos for you at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10157213115550165.1073741977.866440164&type=1&l=e6585c74d1 While the installation should have been pretty simple, It ended up taking quite a bit of time. The install kit ...

Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

I just got back for the evening for the first time taking the car on the freeway since getting the new tires. The ride is noticeably smoother! The car really needed new tires from the time I got it, which has been almost 6 months now. Glad to have some good tread. Good ride and I'll be much more rea...

Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

I just got new tires on the car. Dunlop Enasaves. The same as what was already on the car. I did notice that they are marked as 51 PSI max sidewall. I'm almost positive that the same tires just taken OFF the car were only rated for 44 PSI. I know that's what I was running those tires at. I've also n...

Re: Hauling outdoor gear on roof rack???

I too would love to see photos of a roof rack on an iMiEV! My brother-in-law bought a roof rack for his Kia Rio two-door. He got a good deal on it, but also waited to install it, and when he finally did, realized that it wouldn't fit! Now he can't return it. I guess if sort of fits into the door fra...

Re: Window Tint suggestions?

Yes, when I look at my windows, there's a tiny bit of a green hue. It's only the tiniest difference in the amount of light going through the glass versus having the window open. My understanding of automotive windows is that the color just has to do with how the glass is made. That is considered a c...

Re: Wife Drove Off While Plugged IN!

Hey guys!
I got my Level 2 Charging station fixed! A big thanks to Joe for sending me his cord!

Swapping out cords was pretty straight forward.

Re: Window Tint suggestions?

A nice little trick is to park the car pointed south in the winter and north in the summer. Windshields ARE the biggest solar collector on the car. I'm mostly thinking about not having sunlight shining directly on the passengers on hot summer days, and I think it would look nice too. Our family car ...

Window Tint suggestions?

Hi everyone! We finally got the first really sunny and warm day here! Unfortunately, I realized how HOT the sunlight gets when my car has ZERO window tint! When we got our Prius (used, 10 years old...) it already had tinted windows, which I really liked the look of. However, it also makes the car mu...

Re: Wife Drove Off While Plugged IN!

I hadn't mentioned it yet either, but as Joe just said, there ARE advantages to being able to shift into gear while being plugged in. There are a few cars out there that almost have TOO many safety features or everything is so reliant on electronics that it can lead to problems. For example, it's be...
