Re: “BRAKE” light in dash

Welcome to the forum! - Glad you found us It's for sure NOT normal. I would check the level of the brake fluid and if that's where it should be, I would check to see if maybe something is preventing the handbrake lever from going all the way down. Either one could give you the intermittent issue you...

Re: problem with original L1 EVSE

I would test the OEM EVSE from an outlet without GFCI protection before I called this an EVSE problem - Many times, two GFCI devices in series will give *unusual* results, depending on the EVSE installed in the wall. *IF* it works 100% of the time from a non-GFCI outlet, I would just remove the GFCI...

Re: I would like to set the charge current lower than 5A

Maybe 230V to 110V transformer could help? That was my thought too - 120 volts @ 5 amps should solve his problem All North American cars came with a 960 watt EVSE - 120 volts @ 8 amps, so charging at less than 1 kw is no big deal and I *think* the EVSE Upgraded Panasonic units can be set to 6 amps ...

Re: Under the Cover--an Inside Look at a 2018 On-Board Charger (OBC2)

My concern is . . . . if your original doesn't fail in the first 10 years, you're out of luck. If it fails later, I'll bet this new one is $4K if you have to BUY one from Mitsu . . . . and that would likely mean trashing your 11 or 12 year old car, regardless of the low miles you might have on it Don

Re: [POLL] On-Board Charger and DC/DC Converter

That is sort of interesting, but I don't understand what 'potential low durability' means - they are either low durability or they are not Some of them may last for 250,000 miles and 30 years, so until there is an actual failure, it's 'potential low durability' because a large number of them HAVE f...

Re: my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

Have you got more details about this warranty extension ? Onboard charger only or the whole HV system and/or battery ? US i-Miev only or i-Miev world wide ? Ion and C-Zero as well ? My guess is US Mitsubishi’s only at the moment. I suspect you're correct - US and Canada only. The letters are from M...

Re: Drivetrain transplant

I think it would probably all fit quite well in a first generation Miata too . . . . and you can pick those up considerably cheaper than the Ghia's I'll bet . . . . but since you already own one and it's looking for a new drive train, why not? We actually bought our first iMiEV when I was running th...

Re: 2012 SE Premium for sale

Should sell quickly Brad!

Half the miles of the other one currently listed here, yours is a Premium with Nav & quick charge and the other one isn't and you're asking more than $1K less. I'll bet it doesn't last long!

Re: CHAdeMO or no CHAdeMO question

Welcome to the forum! - Glad you found us :) True, all NA iMiEV's have the charge doors on both sides. QC was an option on ES models (those with the steel wheels) and if so equipped, the little lever beside the drivers seat which opens the left side charge door is a clue - If you see that little lev...
