Re: got one yesterday

I would highly recommend EVSE Upgrade too . . . . but I don't think they will modify the newer Mitsu EVSE's I bought a Chinese EVSE when I bought the Volt which has full current adjustment and it works OK - There's a thread on it here somewhere. So far as I know, it's 240 volts only though - I've ne...

Re: Premium trim bluetooth AND spare keys

Did you get an owners manual with the car? Lots of what you're asking is explained there. If you don't have one, you can go online and download the .pdf file and read it. That will explain many things For a key to open the door, any good locksmith can make a copy of your existing key and that will w...

Re: Almost owner .. again

The map does all 50 states

That said, we never use it - A 'navigation system' in a car with such a limited range seems a bit odd to me - Pretty hard to get lost within 35 miles of home  . There are other aspects of the Premium sound system which are very nice to have though

Re: after a full charge how many miles supposed to show on the miev display?

It is based on energy consumption during your most recent 15 miles of driving, and on a battery with at least 80% of original capacity, you should see more than 62 miles after a calm drive on level terrain. Depending on how and where you drove those 15 miles, the number will be all over the place. ...

Re: Fuel tank for diesel heater

Well, and that's what I was wondering. Lots of room behind the motor, but filling could be problematic. I was contemplating installing one, years ago, and my plan - For a non ChaDeMo equipped car - Was to put the tank in the back as you suggest and then fabricate a fill hose which I could access fr...

Re: Fuel tank for diesel heater

I don't have the heater in my car, but from my experience with those using similar heaters in boats, you could not stay in your car if you were actually using .5 liter per hour, so that's making your tank choice lots bigger than I think it needs to be I'm sure you'll get some good advice here from t...

Re: Almost an owner ... but need advice

Mitsu extended the battery warranty to 10 years, 100,000 miles and they have been very good about replacing any defective batteries. Degradation is not nearly the problem it is with the Leaf. There are many cars beyond the 100K which still have 80% or better of the original range With the Mitsu, you...

Re: Finally! - My Wider Wheels/Tires Project

Well, it might be just my imagination, but with 40 psi in the 175's (same pressure I always ran in the 145's) the tires seem much 'cushier' when you hit a bump, like the tire is absorbing more of the shock. I'm sure there *is* more cubic inches of air in the tire, but the sidewall is the same height...

Re: happy new owner

Congratulations!! - Great first car for a college student, especially one who has a free charging location right on campus I think we can pretty much guarantee it does have a drivers side seat heater - Every 2012 made came with one, regardless of trim level. Perhaps the switch went bad and someone r...

Re: Charging from 48V DC

Most DC to DC converters also go from DC to AC and then back to DC again - I would be surprised if that's much more efficient than your current inverter
