Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

it sounds like during the last run, the 12v battery was also not getting charged. You are right. It was not getting charged. You will probably also need to check the 20 amp fuse that is located in the top of the MCU (Motor Control Unit). The dealer replaced a "high voltage fuse" (a $100 p...

Re: HR R Safety Caps, MuRata DEH series

Thanks Coulomb and Kiev. p.s. Quixotix, your 220uF output filter Cap looks like it has gotten hot and caused the sleeve to shrink and uncover the top--may want to check/replace if high ESR. Can I do this with a multimeter? I have a decent multimeter, but not much more for testing electronics. That c...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

They are 1 nF (1000 pF) 3150 V capacitors, as specified in this post : Murata DEHR33F102Kppp . Whether they should be replaced with something "stronger" is debatable, but you are unlikely to find a higher DC voltage rating. Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy quality capacitors (...

They are 1 nF (1000 pF) 3150 V capacitors, as specified in this post : Murata DEHR33F102Kppp . [ Edit: the "ppp" might actually be three special characters that aren't rendering well, but in my PDF reader, these characters show up as empty boxes but match "ppp" in a search. ] Di...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Thanks for the information Coulomb. I would be careful with milling. You don't want to touch the PCB tracks. Others don't seem to have had much trouble removing the potting material with simple tools ... If you're very lucky, you might be able to leave some pigtail exposed, and solder quickly to the...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I apologize if this if this has been answered, but I"m struggling with the terminology in this thread -- vertical pcb (I don't see one), dog house??? Anyway, I'm attaching 2 pictures (I hope). I think that's a capacitor that's completely burned up. Am I right? Assuming it is, does someone know ...

Re: First Wreck???

Fjpod said: "I grabbed the bumper with my bare hands and pulled it out. I was kinda shocked how easy it was." Yep, I did the same thing on both sides. However, I don't think the bumper is quite as flimsy as it appears. To bend the bumper bend in, it appears to bend the brackets at either e...

Re: Update - Only Minimal Damage

OK, I would say it doesn't even qualify as a wreck after all, just a fender bender - and hardly that. :D There is a U-shaped crossmember at the rear of the car that is the structure for the rear bumper. It is bolted to the rear of the car with a couple of angle brackets. These two brackets are reall...

First Wreck???

Well, I think my car was the first i bought in the continental USA. My wife was driving it today, and she just got rear-ended. Does this make mine the first to be wrecked? I haven't seen the car yet, so I don't know how bad the damage is. She says the "rear end is pushed in to the rear wh...

Re: Electric Motor Unit Warning Light When Using Remote?

Sorry I'm so late to this thread.

My car does have the CMU recall done, and I have a Legrand L2EVSE16 level 2 charging station. I do have the warning light problem with the remote, and my car behaves just as described by others.
