Imiev/van

This is probably common knowledge too but it was news to me that the imiev was/is produced in a van version. The post office around here could use them. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=you ... UvfAgr0Y1c

Imiev/Smart car

Perhaps this is common knowledge but it was news to me. The imiev started its existence as a 4dr ICE Smart Car in Europe according to this: https://cleantechnica.com/2017/08/06/go ... iev-first/

I googled a 4dr Smart and it does look very similar to the imiev

Re: Remote/heat/ac while charging

Thanks for the reply. $1000 is motivating. I called the woman who sold me the car and she actually had the remote. She had forgotten about it.

Remote/heat/ac while charging

My recently purchased 2012 Imiev came with key fobs to unlock the doors but no remote. Should it have had a remote? Did all 2012 imiev's come with a remote in the USA? I tried turning on the heat and ac while the car was plugged in. It did not appear to draw on the 120volt input but on the battery. ...

Re: Updated Arm Rest with opening Console

I got mine at Oreilly's. I used the screw in type plastic rivets for the armrest but they had a lot of different styles, most of them with the brand name of the car they were used on, on the box. They were in the aisle with all the funky body tools ad parts hanging in blister packs. I was surprised ...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

After about a half hour of level one charging at an ambient temperature in low 40's F and the car body reading 45f, the highest temp I could find on the charger was 58 degrees F. Coolant pump cycled once as I was checking temps, in a period of about 10 minutes.

Re: Just posted my 2017 iMiEV Review to Youtube

You said the 2017 was different than earlier US models. What differences were you thinking of? Your 2017 looks like my 2012. I'm pretty sure some models with the upgraded navigation, rear view camera and radio came with bluetooth connectivity. Some models also were delivered without the Chademo port...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

It’s too bad the AC is not activated and diverted to the charger on Level 1&2 charging.

I’d be interested in a kit if you develop it.

Re: Updated Arm Rest with opening Console

I used the basic bracket (not the extensions) and attached it to the console with 1/4" Ford/Nissan plastic screw rivets. I also used a heat gun to warm the bracket and bend each side inwards so it more closely matched the width of the original console. By the way, the armrest is only $40 now on...

How dangerous to work on?

I've always worked on my own cars and my Imiev is my first EV. How dangerous are they to work on and what steps should be taken to avoid the electrical dangers? When I was a teenager I was working on an early 60's Falcon with a friend who was wearing an expandable metal watch band. The band contacte...
