Re: Hi Guys! Here's the latest on my i-MiEV (dash mod, plate, etc.)

mcampellone, wow - that's a very attractive installation! Thank you for all the details and the video. Love your vinyl plug graphics above the charging port flaps! Do you have a file of that image you could post? Since it's Android, you could install CaniOn or one of the other i-MiEV apps, attach a ...

Re: Stock antenna replacement

Years ago I picked up a universal replacement antenna with lots of threaded adapters, one of which fit the i-MiEV. IIRC, it was under $10 at my local auto parts store. Just looked on eBay and Amazon and there are some there. I once tried to put on a longer one to improve FM reception, but it was too...

Re: 12V battery cumulative drain higher then overall charging.

As soon as you turn the key to ACC, you're applying a load onto the battery (depending on whether the door is still open and whether the radio and what other gadgets are attached to the USB/12v outlet) and the voltage drops further than when OFF. I just measured my wife's SE Premium and the voltage ...

Re: Always on lighter/12v port - Charging battery banks

yannd, I have a similar system, using the 48v LiFePO4 pack to run a sine-wave inverter which powers my refrigerator and induction cooktop when the grid goes down. In my case, I have a fused Anderson connecter hooked up directly to the 12v battery, so it's primarily a static system. I can envision, i...

Re: shudder from rear at hwy speeds

Can't tell what brand of tire that you have, but I had the identical problem occur with three of my over-pressurized Yokohama AVID ENVigors. Never an issue with the OEM Dunlap Enasaves. Oh, and IIRC they failed in hot weather. http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2725#p24356 Need to go ...

Re: shudder from rear at hwy speeds

I would stop driving it immediately and jack it up and have a look or have it checked out right away. Definitely not normal, and for me I'd first be looking at the drivetrain rather than suspect the motor. Good luck, and please do follow up and let us know your progress, but do check it out right aw...

alexrr60, as you can see I combined your two posts. This ad of yours is sufficient as most of us go to 'Active Topice' when we access this forum, so it shows up close to the top of the list. I'm intrigued at the re-purposing of this car and whether the OBC is also available?

Re: 12V battery cumulative drain higher then overall charging.

pbui19, be careful, as I don't think that Harbor Freight "trickle charger " has a regulator. Even a small panel like that can overcharge a 12v lead-acid battery. I also have an old larger Harbor Freight panel, but it's feeding the battery through an inexpensive controller - http://www.kati...

Re: Good price for a 2016 i-MiEV?

One more thing: don't forget to enquire about the Remote, which is a handheld gadget that allows you to remotely pre-heat or pre-cool the car as well as control the ac charging start and stop times. If they don't have it with the car (not unusual with used cars) then ask them to knock off at least $...
